While you’re doing that SD, check out what the thoughts are on defenders diving and trying to decapitate opponents. Probably have to search for a while.......
From the BBC website: Posted at13 mins Southampton 0-1 Liverpool Southampton have now made nine errors leading to goals, only Arsenal have made more. More boos for Virgil van Dijk but they perhaps do the job of unsettling the defender as he sends Joel Matip scampering for a fairly routine pass. Must be Wenger's coaching leading to such good defenders making mistakes....
Best laugh of the week on the Beeb - and there’s been a few - supposedly the fans Combined side for NLD including Mikhitaryan and our 2nd choice LB!!
What a ****ing joke! There isn’t a single Arsenal player who would get in a combined North London XI. The Shift has taken care of that, and Gooners know it.
Amazing season. Today I thought Saints would take care of Liverpool and Manu would wallop Newcastle. Can you see why I don't guess football results? It is grand to see what Mourinho fibs are today.....he must have taken lessons from Trump!
People call Pep a fraud, but he's a far better "big club" coach than The Smug One. I'm so glad that the twat has finally been found out.
I wouldn't say we have an incredibly superior squad to yours, I don't think many Spurs fans would say that as we've often bemoaned a lack of depth but fully fit first XIs? We'd smack the absolute **** out of you. To somewhat explain our lack of trophies under Poch, it's pretty easy and goes back to my point in the above paragraph - we don't/ didn't have the squad to compete for trophies AND be competitive in the Prem. During Poch's first season he inherited a shower of **** thanks to AVB & Sherwood which consisted of expensive flops, bad eggs who caused major problems and also many under-performers, so he had to weed them out and replace them instantly with youth while improving the form of certain players (namely Rose and Walker). It was a transitional season but we still managed to reach the League Cup final and finish 5th. Second season as we all know we suffered the embarrassment of finishing "third in a two horse race" but up until the final few weeks of that season, our focus was purely aimed at trying to do the unthinkable and win the Prem. Cups and Europe were put on the back foot as we didn't have a big enough squad to have remained competitive on all fronts. When the Prem was out of reach, we were already out of cups and Europe so gave up in the final run of games which you profited from. Last season was similar, we were the only team to give Chelsea competition so the Prem was again the sole focus, especially after our horror show in the Champions League. We had a number of injuries that year, too, injuries are part and parcel of football but we were averaging roughly 3 key players out a game for about 3-4 months, so going back to the point of our squad not being strong enough, it hit us hard. This season we've gradually improved the squad. Pep's spending at City means any hope of winning the Prem is well out of reach and so top four and a trophy is the hope. Top four is a strong possibility, while we're still in the CL and FA Cup. Realistically we know the chance of winning the CL is highly unlikely but we'll enjoy the ride, while the FA Cup is something I really think we'll go for. During this period, you lot have been pathetic in the Prem by your standards and have thus focused primarily on cups, that's been Wenger's saving grace, plus he's usually guided you to finish in CL spots, albeit last season and now possibly this, it seems cups are the only thing you can aim for.
Just reads like a whole load of excuses I'm afraid. Are you now firmly in the camp of 'finish top 4 at the expense of trying to win something'?
The fact that he was the height of their ambition says it all, frankly! (Not getting him at all was the icing on the cake)
It's not necessarily mutually exclusive. Wenger says you're still going for both. I don't see it, not without Jonny Evans.
Not sure any top player would want to sign a new contract if they had to play for Wenger and had already experienced him, don't blame him for leaving. Still baffled that Ozil chose to sign a new one but I suppose £350k swung him. Anyway, for spurs... top 4 more important then?
The guy above suggested it was mutually exclusive in your recent seasons. Maybe now it isn't? So this season you'll start winning trophies while finishing top 4?
Very. He waited to see how far the Goons got in the FA Cup this January before making the decision (with a heavy heart) to go to Man Utd.
