An outstanding win against a team playing anti-football. Burnley came to spoil, harass and bully. They were aided and abetted by yet another referee who had Premiership written all over him - Premiership Incompetence.

I thought our fans were great, not noisy, but not getting impatient and understanding the importance of what was going on in front of them.

Two outstanding performances, Jordan Ayew for putting in another huge shift and Frederico Fernandez who saw off the Burnley aerial threat. Onwards and upwards and there is now a belief and organisation within the team which hopefully can see us pull away from the bottom three.

We can sit back tomorrow and Monday and hopefully watch our rivals suffer with Huddersfield facing Bournemouth, Newcastle playing Man U, Southampton facing Liverpool and Chelsea playing West Brom

Finally, it was great to see the over abrasive Sean Dyche leave the Liberty with exactly what his team deserved - F*** all <ok>

    • Only Tottenham (15) have won more Premier League points than Swansea (14) since Carvalhal took charge of the Swans. Per the BBC

......and three of them were a gift from another scandalous refereeing performance at the Liberty. Cheating, diving, scummy Spurs !!!

Cant fault the efforts against Burnley who came for the draw and to spoil the party which with their recent form was the right thing to do just like we did under Clement in many games.....I love Carlos's Attitude and he was not fazed at all but a little frustrated maybe so he changed things around towards the end and brought on more strikers and it worked.....A sign of a good manager who can change things when needed.....A deserved win with yet again J Ayew MOM...

I think special mention has to go to Nathan Dyer as well - he's been very good the last few games. His reaction when we scored said it all - he's right up for the fight.

Amazed that only Huddersfield have scored fewer goals than us!
That said, Burnely have only scored 1 more than us and they are joint third for least goals conceded...

Our goal difference is coming down and that is a positive, In fact there is not much not to be not positive about at the moment which is a massive turnaround to a couple of months ago.....We are bound to have set backs but as long as we have more positives then i think we will be ok...

A good win against a tough and uncompromising team, who’s only tactics were lobbing the ball up to their big forwards. Aided by another crap ref who did his best to give them free kicks around our box for minor infringements, booked Olsson for diving, then waved play on a few minutes later when Vokes did the same thing, and allowed Burnley to get away with over robust challenges.
We are now on a tremendous run of form and the transformation in our players is a joy to see, long may it continue. From being dead and buried, and five points adrift at the bottom of the table when Carlos arrived, we are now well on the way to saving out PL status, no easing off yet though, still a long way to go, let’s hope we can keep the momentum going.

Ok, great 3 points yesterday, but I have to be honest, I thought we were quite poor in the first half and to be fair, I know many wont like this Burnley were the better side in that 1st half and created a few chances. for me the passing looked a little laboured and we just cant play Carroll, Ki and Clucas in the middle 3 they are just all to similar and give us nothing going forward. However in the second half we livened up and performed better, but again we crested very little, our goal in the 82 minute was our second shot. I thought the introduction of AA did lift us and I just hope he shows that effort in the games to come.
On a plus note, great to see Dyer back hungry and looking back to where he was a few years ago. I thought the back 3 played well and a good job for us, we have to find a way of scoring a few more as I cant see us winning 1-0 all the time. Jordan Ayew put a right shift in and is quickly turning into a player we are going to rely on.
So a great 3 points against a very physical side and some shocking refereeing, looks better but for me still work to do.

Did Burnley create chances? They managed one off target shot and a save from Fabianski looked like it would have gone over the bar. Several speculative headers and nothing of note. We may have given them more respect than they deserved but both sides seems pretty even.
IMO there's no point shooting if you know the shot will be blocked by a very congested defence.
Burnley were incredibly negative and played like we did under Monk ... able along and hope to nick goal.
What did impress me was how we unlocked their parked bus defence.

Quite a few around me were bigging Cork up before and throughout the game ... was he playing? Apart from a couple of blatant hand balls (that were ignored by Marriner) he was anonymous. Perhaps that's his Liberty de-fault setting.
Sorry I forgot the tackle he made on CLucas that elicited a round of applause from a large number of Swans 'supporters' in the East Stand.

    Sometimes performances do not matter.
The result was the most important.

They created more than us, read into what I am saying or am I not allowed to say what I think and dare to criticise they way we played. I said it was a great win but for me it wasn't a great performance, points are everything I agree, but it was one paced and we created next to **** all.

Can I ask what is the point of the Cork comment I don't get what you are getting at, I never mentioned him.

That's what I was saying and I knew some would sulk and throw their toys because I dared to say I didn't think we were that good in the first half, all about opinions I suppose. but you are right it is about the 3 points.

    No problem TLF <ok>

I think your right, Burnley did perform well in the first half and got the better of us, imo, but their performance was referee assisted which made it difficult for us to challenge them.

Mariner allowed Burnley to execute their game plan which was to be very physical, I have no problem with that but the referee must apply his adopted style consistently to both teams and Mariner did not. He allowed Burnley to try to bully us yet he regularly penalized us in danger zones for, what seemed like, just being in the vicinity of a Burnley player who fell over when breathed on.

It was noticeable, to me anyway, that this must have been discussed at half time because in the second half we didn't dwell on the ball at all and we were much sharper passing the ball around and Burnley players couldn't get to us.

Over the whole of the game though imo, the better team won. We were the only team looking to play and we were the only team looking to win. Burnely came for a draw or to nick a win by bullying us out of the points. It didn't work, we had the answers to the questions they posed.

    MOM Jordan Ayew, yet again.

I got it and I think he was suggesting and quite rightly that when some Swans fans decide , for whatever reason, they don't like a player will pick in him forever more lwhether he improves or not. Tunnel vision I'm afraid.

I get that but I don't understand it as a reply to the fact I thought we weren't that good in the first half. I didn't criticise any player except to say I don't think Clucas, ki and Caroll can play as a 3 as all to similar.

I actually said that the ref was poor, I have watched 2 games live this season Yesterdays and Newcastle at home and to be perfectly honest the last 15 mins apart there was barely any difference in the performances. In both games we moved the ball far to slowly and didn't look like scoring in either game, the great thing from yesterday was we nicked a goal instead of conceding one.

Results not going our way so far today - Huddersfield have thumped Bournemouth 4-1, and now Newcastle have beaten United 1-0.
