Honestly Tel, and I'm not saying this as a wind up, but whereas a decade or two ago Man Utd were the club lots of neutrals loved to hate mostly you're just one of a group of big clubs. Other than your actual rivals I don't think many fans particularly have any animosity towards Man Utd nowadays. Fair game and good contest would be great, my expectation is neither.
If you win / when you win it will be deserved. If you don't turn up we are capable of catching teams out but we should be an easily ground out result for most good teams. The way we play is practically an acceptance of a 1-0 loss "but please don't hurt our goal difference or morale".
