He is also probably factoring in the point that in the last
2 PL seasons, Spurs have had very strong finishes to
the last half of the season. That seems to be a trait of
a Pochettino squad, and everyone fully fit again just
as the final third of the season begins is ominous for
the other four rivals (effectively three now after
    yesterday) .

  2. I know mate, was only joshing!
But to be fair, he also put in a shift at Watford, do maybe there were other factors at work during his time with us. AVB influence perhaps?? <yikes>

83,222, officially. The Premier League game with the highest attendance: Spurs beating Arsenal. Lovely! <laugh>

Yes I realised you were. <ok> I always thought Paulinho was a good player, you could see by his touches, he just never really fitted in and didn't get much of a run in a team that had little cohesion. We have a large list of players who just didn't work at Spurs from Rebrov to Soldado so he is not alone.

Not even La Liga winner Toby Alderweireld or Confederations Cup winner Lucas Moura?

Only a biased, myopic ****poster throwing an hours-long tantrum that their team deservedly lost a match they were clearly outclassed in would be so dense to actually say something that bloody stupid.

The whole 'we don't have the funds that other clubs do' argument... Hmm... If spurs could suddenly spend £100m and £350k/w per player... Who exactly would you be able to buy that would be better than the players you have? You have players bought for peanuts who are just as good as those sold for £100m. It's impressive how you've built your squad, but I'm not sure having city levels of funding would make you a significantly better team would it??

Llorente's won most of everything but been dreadful. I'm pretty sure that it counts for nothing or we'd still be playing Hoddle, Ardiles and Cliff Jones.

Llorente's won the World Cup, the Euros, three Serie As and the Coppa Italia. Couldn't even make the match squad.
Various other players have picked up silverware in France, Holland and the like, but as you point out yourself, we rarely buy the finished article.
A lot of your players have won trophies with other clubs. Didn't seem to help them yesterday and certainly hasn't done much for your away form this season.

Exactly. It hasn't. And it never will for any of our signings when they get coached by Wenger.

It might also be because a lot of them aren't good enough and/or they have poor attitudes.
Ozil's arguably your best player and even he admits that Mourinho basically had to tell him to **** off to get him to put in some work.
The balance of your squad is also pretty questionable.

  13. Sorry, but that’s baloney! it’s the funds plain and simple that have made the difference at Citeh & Chelsea. Arsenal has had numerous years of CL plus increased stadium revenues for 10 years - the fact that you’ve either spent badly or banked it is your problem!

And there are arguably ‘better’ players that might have been available to us if we’d had that level of funding. One or two additions to the squad in 2015/16 might well have made the difference that season.

It's possible. But after 100+ players and 15 years that's not really the most logical conclusion to make.

Who right now would you realistically buy to improve your team?

  16. Isco? <laugh>
    I’ll get my coat......
(It’s an injoke on this board)

Seriously? Better or purely another choice/option for games? Another out and out goal scorer, another AM to cover Eriksen. Both of those are big buck positions which we wouldn’t currently be able to match.

Why isn't it? You're suggesting it's down to Wenger and he signs the players.
Is Xhaka a £35m player? Is Mustafi? Was Lacazette worth £45m?
How many of the top 6 squads would Elneny make?

How many of your players would Chelsea fans swap for theirs, for example? Utd? Liverpool?
You don't have a bad squad, by any means. Don't misunderstand what I'm saying.
It's just unbalanced, has too many players with poor attitudes and lacks quality in a couple of key areas.

I'm saying if you had Arsenal or Liverpool levels of funding then who would you realistically buy that would be an upgrade on any of your current first XI? I'm not talking reserve backups because they don't cost a lot and you can always afford backups like Moura.

Not so much who as what. We need :

    - CM competition in some form for Eriksen, who does
dip in form from time to time (perhaps Winks in time)

    - A replacement for Dembele, to beast and drive the
    attack thru the opposition CM

    - A Giroud type striker who will not be the main
man while Kane is on fire, but will allow Kane to rest
and score at least 10 PL goals (supposed to be Llorente)

    - Proper flank attack speedboats that we have not really
had since Bale and Lennon (the various N'JKLs
    supposedly, Moura we hope)

  20. We picked up Lucas Moura for a song - maybe good business, but similar to Arsenal buying Aubameyang or Mikataryan, it’s a punt as he has no recent form. The difference is that he didn’t cost us half as much as those two! If he settles I think he will be far more than a back-up, but time will tell.

If you exclude any PL options and ignore the characters of the individuals (e.g. a Suarez) then a top striker, like an Mbappe or Cavani would be pushing £100m but within range funding-wise of yourselves or Pool.
Joking aside, Isco would be my choice and acccessible on your level of funding.
