Golf is decent to play. Most people that play at clubs are as you described though, posh pompous *****.
Oh mate I could bore you to tears talking about cricket and unlike my conversations with dull I would be serious
I played pitch and putt once . Not a poshie in sight Used to live in Southport, so used to see loads of people (including footballers) at the Southport and birkdale golf club. Its the clothes that put me off
Yeah true. Wouldn't mind seeing Ronnie and maybe Higgins play but it'd have to be free tickets and right at the front.
I don't watch it now as its all fixed IMO with the pitches etc and favours the batsmen But having played it I can see what a bowler is trying to do and to see a batsman overcome or succumb to it is fascinating
Good point about the clothes, puts golf into a different league compared to the others sports mentioned. I got kicked out of the bar when I was a member at the local course because I forgot to remove my cap before entering
What got me was the way they dress like that outside the club and interlink their fingers and practise golf swings when women are around. And I don't mean the golf club I mean when getting a kebab at the local take away
I'm not joking mate. I lived i n Southport and worked p/t in a takeaway. Used to be this one lad I recall, nice enough guy who was about 5'4" tall at 21 but made out he was going to be the next big thing in golf. Used to come in dressed in the latest golf gear, order his food and then stand at the back practising his swings and stuff. No clubs just going through the motions . Even muttering stuff like "m probably pulled that slightly" If no one else was in he'd just talk to me
nah he was a good lad really He always came in on his own so his "look at me I play golf" pulling technique obviously didn't work
Some woman has just turned up at my door. I've never seen her before, she said she'd come to say hello. I said "hello, do I know you", she then said oh it doesn't matter and walked away. I've got the bairn here so I shut the door and went to the window, she walked to a car outside my house and spoke to the driver, the driver drove off and she walked off down the street. Strange, because something like that just isn't normal.
I've been a naughty lad all of my life, I know when something is going on. I've put the hammer next to the front door. I feel like sending the bairn home.
