Indeed - let's just hope Ainscombe doesn't suddenly turn into JPR Williams. Still, if we do win at least the Welsh have an excuse....
Very good game imo. England dominating whilst the Welsh defence has been immense. Hell of a scrap between the forwards. England a little too keen to kick possession away imo.
Wales have turned down a few kicks at goal. Is that because Halfpenny is missing? England should kick on comfortably
England still kicking the ball away far too much and the Welsh defence is keeping them in this game. Fantastic try saving tackle by Underhill. Care is having a poor game imo. England missing Ben Youngs a lot. Wales could get something from this game with England failing to create much for all their possession. Wales now looking very threatening. far far too many silly penalties from England!
A hard-earned win from England but Wales showed we are far from certainties to win the Championship. As others have said it'll probably all be on the final match v Ireland...
Quite disappointed with England today. Farrell his usual World class self and Mike Brown very good. But Care was awful, showing little creativity from scrum half. Youngs not playing was a huge problem for England. Wales looked likely to prove Gatland right by finishing the stronger and fitter, till England made their last changes which equalled everything out imo. Wrigglesworth replacing Care made a big difference and should have come earlier. The Welsh deserve huge credit. With all their injuries and then losing Halfpenny (if he'd played they would probably have kicked for goal more from all the penalties England conceded and won the game) they were immense in the breakdown, with Wyn Jones World class. Both teams' defences were unbelievable. Huge win for England, but they looked vulnerable today and would have lost had Ireland been the opposition imo.
England grind out the win, Wales looking increasingly dangerous in the second half. Rarely seen a better tackle than Underhill's. Focus will be on that disallowed Wales try. England will have to play better if they're to beat Ireland. A bit pedestrian today.
I still think Scotland could be a banana-skin for England at Murrayfield, it all depends whether last week was just a one-off for the Jocks...
Lots of controversy about that disallowed try. England were the better team but were not convincing. Wales are a bloody hard team to beat. It’s only the second game. Teams are still rusty. No team looking unbeatable. I mentioned earlier that I see England having 2 issues. The scrum and indiscipline. The scrum was ok at best and England continue to concede unnecessary penalties.Englands front row is their Achilles heel. Ireland will exploit that. Ireland continue to trundle along, ruthlessly efficient but hamstrung by Schmidt’s refusal to expand. BTW, I’m sure ye gents love Jones but he’s irritating and IMO will turn the neutral against England.
