    If Barnsley want Mick Evans will try to make some money out of it.

    Skuse has agreed an extension to his contract for two years.I hope that isn't an omen!

    Can't say I was pleased to see that but maybe under a different manager he might step up on the ball a bit more

    Another who I wouldn't mind in the equation Mark Warburton.

    I think Skuse will be one of those that stays with us til eternity and be one of our coaches, or manager of one of the under age groups.
    At 32/33 will surely only be a bit part player under a new manager. I'll be surprised if he gets as much game time next season.

    I think Mick is giving him a 2 year contract just to look after his mates.

    Going back to Mick leaving - i see he's down to 2/5 to be the next permanent Barnsley manager - i think this is nailed on for next season

    Yep Mick ain’t going anywhere, he’s the ideal safe pair of hands for an owner with no ambition. If he does stay though he needs some investment this time, he needs to either succeed or fail so we can finally move forward

    In a nutshell this is one of the reasons that lets say it's a new manager.

    He's going to want to overhaul the squad to some extent ........... so if Evans DOES back him - what the hell has he been doing with Mick would be a massive question for me. Ie 14/15 when we were top 2 in Jan - yes we signed Sears but we didn't try to break the bank to go up. Sure, Knockaert loan was supposed to happen and Wood did - until he was recalled when he was FINALLY fit.....................

    I don't see major investment - if we could be a little more lucky with Dozzell / Huws in particular - going to consign poor Teddy to being released or not really going to count the poor lad - then we'd surely be able to do better than this.

    Either way - new manager - Mick - I DON'T see significant investment so I think next season will be - whoever is incharge very much the same transfer policy -
    * A loan star
    * Some free transfers
    * A little bit more for transfer fees

    How the hell is this going to LIKELY get us into contention!?

    Feck whether a new manager will receive more investment or "get us in contention" at least the football would improve,it certainly couldn't get worse!

    What about that dutch manager we were linked with?
    Dont want any of the above, especially the Cowhoofleys! Lets bring in a foreign manager, cant be any worse than our last few managers!

    Oh don't get me wrong the footy would improve with anyone.

    How would people feel if Mick left, we hired a new progressive manager who lets say arguments sake took us down.

    Would going down be an absolute disaster - OR could it be the beginning of something fantastic IF we could get up first couple of years?

    I mean, Blades got stuck for 5 / 6 years I think but going up has done them the world of good.........

    I'm bored !!!!!!!!!!!

    I would regard a drop down to the Third tier as an utter disaster and fear we would do a Coventry.
    The scenario I see is a new manager comes in,overall our results are little different than at present BUT we start playing something resembling real football(I'm not talking supposed "sexy footie") just stringing a few passes together which I'm sure would keep most of the dwindling faithful more than happy compared to the dross we suffered over the last couple of Seasons.

    Yeah, don't like the idea of dropping into league one, I don't think we'd recover unless Marcus sold us.

    Completely agreed regarding the relegation to League One being a disaster. I know things are boring at the moment, but I'd never wish relegation on us. It would be one of the worst things that could happen to us. Despite our history, we are not a big club, we have a smaller fanbase than some of the teams already in League One (imagine the attendances for us at that level) and we'd struggle financially. Definitely see at Coventry / Bradford scenario rather than an immediate return (which clubs do not regularly achieve).

    Part of me yesterday as watching the match actually thought, I'd rather us get relegated playing entertaining football than stay mid-table in this division and be bored senseless at every match!!
