yes but it's pretty well accepted and even commented on by players and outsiders that we have the quality to stay up - our squad is clearly better than Barnsley, Bolton and Burton's - we have to outperform these 3 until the end - that is all We've had our bad luck and bad decisons - Adkins only has to send them out and make sure they perform - for their own careers sake as much as City's.. but he also has to let some of the talented ones be more expansive, ultimately it's the Abels, the Bowens and the Turbos that will make the difference.; cross fingers
People keep forgetting the disaster slutsky was in the end, yes there were a few high scoring home games at the beginning but at the end... Jesus. Or derby sticking five by us and could have been ten. Adkins, we drew but we're the better team against derby at home. It just isn't clicking, we need better set pieces. Corners far far post every time ffs. That's where we need work.
It' the old conundrum.. in Sluts we were spiralling downwards .. defensively naive .. unable to see out 90 minutes .. yes we occasionally looked good against the so called weaker teams going forward but when one went in we collapsed time after time .. in the end Sluts was a broken man admitting he didn't know how to rectify it. With Adkins he has got them organised but at the expense of our attacking flare .. chances we were taking earlier in the season are being missed. Either way we are under performing .. I say this again .. this squad does lack so much but for me it still has more then enough to see us clear of the drop. We just need to get the balance right between kamikaze attacking and keystone cop defending. Whether Adkins is the one to achieve that I don' know.
I've never understood why our set pieces are so bad , if you aren't scoring from open play then you need to make the most of them He's had time to work on them and have they improved ?
But maybe he always sits in the West Stand, and why shouldn't he. It wouldn't have cost him that two seasons ago. (Missed his follow up post. Sorry)
Worried for today they'll be up for it after the FA cup and with the Dawson saga. Genuinely worried we are down can't see a sniff of any points till sheff Utd at home! Barnsley at home could be the decider! That's a crazy situation!
