What gets me is why they want to go to Liverpool in the first place? It's not like they are going to ever win anything and Liverpool and the surrounding area is a proper ****hole. I could agree with going to PSG Madrid or Barcelona but Scouseland? The only reason is for the money and nothing else, perhaps a stepping stone?
Errrr had to work there many times, sorry but don't really have a high regard for your average Scouser. Just the way it is buddykins. Some people have a dislike for the Scots, some for people from Yorkshire, some for people that like to presume many things.
I think I'm just prejudice against the whole place in general. It's the one club I despise for itself and it's fans.
A 4-3-3 with the ball can be a 4-5-1 without. I just think we need to make sure that we cause Liverpool some problems on the offensive or otherwise we will be overwhelmed. When you pose a threat you have a much better chance and a creative and pacey threat will be better than having an isolated immobile striker not supported.
I've always quite liked them tbf... Well not so much recently obviously but my main gripe was with Brenda rather than the club. I prefer them to the rest of the big 6.
Don't mind Liverpool, or I didn't until they started buying all our players. They can **** off now, Van Dijk-Head especially, and I hope they win nothing as long as him and Lallana are still there. No hatred though. Spurs, on the other hand - I ****ing hate Spurs. Despite having good friends, and some family who support them, I hate that club. There is no logic to this stuff.
I'm with you on them not winning anything while Adam is there for sure. I've also always disliked Spurs too for some reason.
Liverpool were always the big team I nothinged. Had no feelings towards them either way. Arsenal and Man City I quite liked, hated Spurs and United and didn't really care either way about Chelsea. Now it has changed and I don't really care about United and hate Liverpool, actually like Man City more than before as well. The team I hate the most is Saints though, by quite a distance, funny old game
Having ex-players who claim to have moved to any club to 'better themselves' aka play in Europe, is a good reason to resent them. It is always enjoyable to see any players with inflated egos fall flat on their coccyx, but let's be honest, the players themselves are now simply being paid more money to do what they've always done, and probably don't give a toss for anyone else, including the club they are now playing for. As a separate strand, fans of 'big' (ie rich) clubs seem to have a smug air of entitlement, claiming (in my opinion) that they are somehow better, and their team is entitled to win every time they play. So when we win, it is even more enjoyable, as the opposition players on the pitch, and the opposition fans, are unable to understand that more money does not necessarily mean more success. Anyway, we will win, 2-1. For preference a Lovren own goal, but let's not be greedy.
Yeah I did. I still support them and follow them but no other team has caused me as much pain, made me look like a **** more, disappointed me, frustrated me and made me angrier than Saints. The reverse is true as well that no other team has caused me as much joy etc. It is most definitely a love hate relationship.
I am trying to think of a league game where one of our ex-players has really come back and done a job on us. Mostly, they have not played at their best when facing us. Let's hope for more of the same on Sunday.
I picked Virgil as a scorer in the prediction league....using my general rubbishness in that competition as voodoo.
Yeah, I get that. Supporting a football team is a curse more often than a blessing. Especially when it's Saints.
All I can say then is that you have never met a real scouser. I was in the navy with a lot of them. A few of them were involved with me in extremely trying situations. You couldn’t wish to have better buddies with you under such trying times. I worked in civvy street for just over a year with them in Liverpool. I may have been a southerner but I can assure you I didn’t have a single problem. Yes I met the usual bigots but I can assure you in the main they had a rough time from the average scouser. As for the fans yes I had my leg pulled because I was a Saints fan but again it was always good humered without exception. So am very surprised to see your comments re Liverpool. Edit.....Just remembered..........You could always recognise what team a scouser supported by the colour of his front door!!
Swansea's win takes the gloss off the results, though overall not bad for us. Not going to put too much emphasis on this match...a point or 3 would be fantastic, but going to place more importance on next few matches. But we mustn't let too many goals in....GD could be crucial for final league position.
