Interesting that this morning Neil Warnock claimed he's 'not getting his hopes up' over the JB deal and that the offer wasn't as massive as first thought.

This is from Lee Ryder on twitter and was from SSN...
    Still hope??

If Barton's mind is set on leaving and wanting more money then let him **** right off.

However , if he wants to stay and give his all for us and stop being a big baby then he's welcome to stay.

If Joey truly wants to stay with us he should give up the tweets get his head down and play well. Then see what the situation is at the end of the season. He is not gonig to go to a top 6 club. So any other club will only be a downward move.

He'd kind of need a contract to stay though, and there isn't one on offer. From what we can tell there won't be either so he's going. Nothing to do with money, players go where they are wanted and where they get security. He can't get that with us and it would be career suicide to stay with us.

I'm still fully expecting him to go, but if you want to believe he'll stay, I saw this earlier:

Just found out Joey Barton was due at #QPR's training ground sometime after 10.30am. Stood at the entrance but still no sign of him... #NUFC

Well didn't he say he would see out his contract and would only consider leaving if a top 4 side wanted him?

I think it's more likely that they decided to travel with him, doubt he had much say in it unless he wanted the world to know...

Which he probably did come to think of it.

You tease Smudger! Seriously though I think he'll go but I don't think it'll be QPR. Their interest will just spark others and he has a few days. I fully expect the likes of Everton, Villa and Spurs to make a move. I would say Arsenal but I think he may have burnt his bridges there! You never know in football though.

I have a feeling he will go to Arsenal. Gervinho will have forgotten all about what happened. What happens on the pitch stays on the pitch!!!

  14. He said he didn't want to leave Newcastle, but if he's not being offered a new deal his hands are tied.

Indeed he did when emotions were running high and he was not engaging his brain. Common sense has prevailed, doesn't help us but I said when this all started he couldn't see out the year here, its just not realistic. He gets a serious injury and there is only one loser in that scenario. Barton. Plus if someone was offering me an extra 20k a week to leave a club who didn't want me, I'd take them up. Only a slightly insane man wouldn't. (yes I know you could describe him as that!)

I hate that, his hands aren't tied, he would get paid for another year of football. Sick of Barton atm =/

I've wondered that, was it not he tipped them off to ride with him in an attempt of "look I'm going!!!"
    "I'm heading for the door."
"I'm turning the handle of the door"
    "Don't trry and stop Me"

Well I do think he owes the club and most importantly the fans more than just one good season of football after sticking by him through his troubled times. Although I would understand why he would leave , it would still be a ****y move.
