I saw somewhere that the Prem league average attendance is around 90%. We have massive potential for a big money buyer if we get promoted.... cash it in now Ken and let someone take us forward (and drop the price a bit) I think the point is "where is all the money going?" Operating costs....?
Christ..... things have gone up a bit since i stood on the Kop Interesting to Leicester price with the money they are spending and Derby who are in top two
im a little bit shocked by that... I do think that is one of the things old kenneth is really REALLY bad with though Im also quite shocked at QPRs though, thats ridiculous. Fans spending that much to see there team be beat 4-0 and 5-0 every week. Thats stupid
'Cheaper deals were available for early renewals at Bolton, Fulham, Stoke, Sunderland, Swansea, Wigan and Wolves' Think you'll find that was also the case at Leeds, but no need to let that hamper the stats. PS Granted, our ST prices are too high before you shoot me in the face with a nail gun...
612£ for a season ticket? Is that expensive or cheap? Well I guess it depends on where you are. I have to pay 700£ to attend one match. So I have to say that 612£ for 23 matches is very cheap.
The cheapest adult Southampton season ticket wasn't £540, it was £460 (£380 if you were renewing).
It's the fifth most expensive in the country and we're in the second division with no waiting list. Think you must have your calculations wrong because unless you're in the Directors Box or hospitality at a cup final, no-one pays GBP 700 to go to a football match. I went on Stabaek's website and I don't understand the various categories but it seems the cheapest adult ticket is about GBP 15 and the most expensive about GBP 40. That's far more sensible than Leeds, and that's from a top-division club in Oslo, the most expensive city in the world. GBP 612 is an outrageously high season-ticket price and probably deters over half of our match-attending fanbase from buying a season ticket. The similarly outrageous tickets for each game deter more than half of our match-attending fanbase from bothering to turn up. It's truly shocking, and they can't even quote demand and supply/stadium payments at us like Arsenal and Tottenham can. All they have is the ****ty and demeaning 'you want Premiership football, you pay Premiership prices'. Blimey Ken, you're really investing in accordance with that promise. Newcastle and Derby are both one-club cities who punch well above their weight in terms of attendances. Why? Look at their season ticket prices. They've imposed very reasonable prices which attract fans from all sections of society and get people hooked on their football and therefore more likely to renew their season ticket in future seasons. Leeds have always had shockingly low attendances for a city and a club of our stature and it's no mystery why.
Leeds-18. It will cost me 700£ to attend one mach, and that is the ****ing truth. If I was living in Oslo, it would have cost about 500£. And for Stabek. Well first of all, it’s not a top-division club neither are VÃ¥lrenga. They are at best mid table clubs playing in the top-division using money they don’t have. Every second year or so, they have to get people to shoot some money into the club because they are about to go belly up. And when you compare prices you should not only compare the cheapest ones, but also the most expensive ones to. The correct way to do this comparison is to find the average price per person. Another thing is that Leeds is a more expensive club to run than over half of the prem clubs do to its size. And because Risdale didn’t use any money for maintenance of ER and TA, the fans have to pay even more now. But yes, it is expensive to watch football now a day. And that’s an understatement. We can just hope that there is a ridicules rich man coming in and buy the club. If I was that man I would have bought all the season tickets and given them to the fans for free starting with season ticket holders.
The thing is...look at the difference to last season. Is there really any reason to jump up to £612 from £520 (which is what a brand new ST holder was paying last season). For my renewal, I paid 4 quid less than I paid as a newbie the year before. Its scandalous.
Am I misinterpreting you here? It would cost you GBP 700 to go watch your local team or to watch Leeds? There's no way an everyday seat at any football ground in the world costs GBP 700 unless it's the Champions League final. I disagree that you should compare most expensive prices too. The point of comparing the cheapest is that you see how the average fan is coping. The execs and spectators who pay the big prices to go in the plush stands - and fair play to them if that's their thing - do it by choice. Those who go in the cheapest seats are clearly going there for a reason too. Because it's all they can or want to pay. If those cheapest seats are costing GBP 612 for a whole season for second division football with no waiting list, no plans of rebuying a stadium and little to no transfer investment, it's an appalling return on their investment. It's an outrage. We've made more money than last year on season tickets by hiking the prices up and driving even more people away. Bates said as much himself, followed by 'so it's all looking good'. It's clearly not just about paying the loans for ER and TA, it's about making a quick buck at the fans' expense. We've exceeded the breakeven crowds for the last three years now; by some margin last season. Where's the excess going? Unless I get a reasonable and justifiable answer, I'm not coming back to Elland Road next season. You don't need a billionaire to have sensible ticket prices. Like I say, look at Newcastle and Derby for how small (compared with Leeds) one-city clubs have managed to maintain good crowds with addictive and cheap season tickets. Fans put 63% of United's money into the club. It's clear that our financial loyalty is being treated with contempt.
Fair enough. It's not really relevant to the season ticket prices how much foreign fans have to pay though, mostly for flights and accommodation. If you lived in Yorkshire, I reckon you'd be as pissed off as anyone at how much we get charged and how little return on it we see.
