If he were from the area then could only see the extra money into the council coffers as a good thing.
Oh I was being too optimistic, even the LCC doesn't expect to break even for 25 years. What an investment. Put in £17m now and get it back with zero profit in a quarter of a century. And imagine how far that £1m rent will go in providing additional public services by then.
They’ve borrowed the cash that funded the purchase, EFC pay them an annual lease payment that provides a profit. it’s a 40 year deal and the full capital will have been repaid 15 years before the lease expires. You should really swerve talk of business mate.
So 25 years from now the council makes £1m/year for 15 years. Brilliant ROI. In the same time EFC makes £160m on the naming rights. Imagine if LCC had the business sense to ask for even 5% of that.
Don’t think you understand. The cash isn’t from council funds, it’s borrowed via the council. First year payment sees LCC make a profit. @Tobes.....you were right.
By approaching an EFC-supporting mayor who already has a string of business failures on his books and is now under police investigation for #fraud

So who did the council take the loan out with? Or are you saying the council loaned EFC the money to buy the site and are getting paid back interest free, in which case why will EFC still be paying rent for the remaining 15 years?
Guessing I've lost the ability to read... could have sworn the title of this thread was "Anfielf Expansion Thread"
