Not sure if he got a medal but he was on the bench for Villa's EC win.

Or was it Super Cup win? Or both?

Jack Hobbs another one, played 3 seasons, was pretty decent, but the only thing I can really remember is my confusion at him being sold being immediately forgotten when I saw how good Chezzy was

Nah, didn’t De Mange come from Liverpool?

Are you thinking of Ian Mcparland? Think we signed him and Swan in the same week, breaking our transfer record twice. He was a striker, so Gray obvs played him on the wing.

No, KDM deffo came from Leeds but I could be wrong with the times.

McP was a top goalscorer for Notts Co in the div below, signed for us, then did ****

Think McParland came from Notts County and De Mange from Leeds.

Brightwell, Harper and Marcelle left for Darlington and I think we signed Brumwell from Darlington the same year.

Yeah you’re right actually, but am sure it wasn’t with Swan.

I’d remembered KDM was at Liverpool but forgot we didn’t get him from there.

    Dakin update

    http://www.actons.co.uk/our-people/simon-dakin

I remember when he got released the HDM had some piece titled: Legal Eagle Dakin

Turned out he'd done an A-level on a night at Hull College. A mate of mine was adamant that he only got an E grade.

Yeah Mcparland defo was from County. I didn’t mean he came with Swan, just that they signed in the same week.

I had the squad photo of Stan Ternants team and I am sure we had 40 odd players. Rob Gawthorpe, Dave Cleminshaw and Iain Hesford were the Goalkeepers.

I remember his debut. Came on as a sub, night match v rock bottom Stoke.

He got the ball, back to goal, took it on his chest and turned hitting a half volley (from about 25 yards) which the 'keeper saved. He's ****ing ace we thought.

Favourite goal from him was v Brighton. Christmas time ish, 1992ish, and he was clean through from near the half way line, with a few mins left at 0-0.

The annoying thing about Sneekes was he was brilliant everywhere else before us.

    Honourable mention of Andy Hessenthaler.

A true test of how memorable a player was is whether you can identify him. So - guess the former player..
