Highly unlikely again that Riyad Mahrez will be avalible especially with the opponents being the club who tried to sign him. Wes Morgan should be avalible for this game and no injuries of suspension so here is what I would go with

    Schmeichel

    Simpson
    Dragovic
    Maguire
    Fuchs

    Albrighton
    Silva
    Ndidi
    Iborra
    Chilwell

    Vardy

Subs- Hamer, Morgan, James, Diabate, Gray, Okazaki, Iheanacho

I think that would get overun in midfield. Give De Bruyne room and we lose. Simple as

This will be a game for Okazaki. He must start for me.

I think Diabate would relish a run at some of these 'superstars'. He doesn't appear to have too much respect for reputations.

I dont get how though. I thought he played well but went missing for parts. But overall a very good debut.

I just think we need a solid midfield if were going to have any chance and try and get Vardy in on the counter

... did you see the cameo on MOTD? ... he caused havoc whenever he ran at people and his confidence is just way beyond ... he's a real loose cannon ... but in a good way .... defenders are going to hate playing against him because you just don't know what he's going to do ....you can't beat City by trying to contain them ... but I think you can get at them ... much like we did the season we won the title ... go for it <ok>

While i agree we have to attack them but I would try and frustate them for as long as possible and then make the subs with Diabate and Gray to try and win the game late on

... suspect Notts County had a similar game plan against Swansea last night <whistle>

... Bristol City gave Citeh a bit of a fright in the cup and I hope we adopt similar tactics ... the difficulty in containing Citeh is that the likes of De Bruyne and the Silvas could thread an eel through an inner tube ... and Aguerro is on the end of things ... way better not to be chasing the game against them as their second at our place proved ...

I'm actually looking forward to this one ... coz I do think Puel will ask our lads to give it a real go <ok>

Thanks for pointing that out <laugh> .... but it doesn't invalidate the proposition that it might be self defeating to attempt to contain the uncontainable ... Citeh put 7 past Stoke back in October as I recall and were 3-0 up in under half an hour ... Stoke weren't a League 2 side either <ok>

Liverpool, Watford, Palace, Spurs have all had 4 or more put past them by MC, none of whom are League 2. The form MC are in this season though they are making teams look League 2

... which is why I, personally, would rather we were bold ... best from of defence? ... keep them down their end <laugh>

Trying to contain won’t work, we would likely be out of the game before we decide to go for it. Shakey bless him did this and we ended up chasing eveart game.
We obviously need a good balance but we’ve not been bad at open play in terms of conceding. It’s set pieces that are doing us over and that’ll be the risk however we set up so we may as well have a good go. We were unlucky not to get a point there last season, battered them at home, battered them away the season before and they managed to get away with a draw at the KP that season. We are as much of a bogey side as they have make no mistake and they know it

No Mahrez as we all worked out anyway and no Shinji as he has injured his knee and will miss 2 weeks

Diabate can operate as a central striker as well as from wide, so happy with Vards, Iheanacho and Diabate with Gray, Albrighton and Chilwell giving width ... plus we can always blood another of the U23s at a pinch ...

Be interesting to see how he goes. I don’t expect Mahrez to play, bench at best given the message it would send out. I wouldn’t mind seeing Nacho and Vardy again as per last week, we may as well go for it and Nacho will have a point to prove. No idea on LB as Chilwell and Fuchs have both been poor recently by their standards. I think Simpson will be back. CM Ndidi and Silva Id hope.

As an aside, I’ve heard on the radio driving to work recently what sums up what a **** club Man City are. On both Capital Yorkshire and Hallam FC (Sheffield and South Yorks station) they are advertising tickets for their champions league games. Is their support that bad that they have to try and flog cheap tickets to sell some in other regions of the country!
