Hi guys, Iâve finished my training as a human cannonball and Iâm going on tour with the National Circus of Wales next week to China. This could be my last post for a while! Well, Uncle Nehemiah came to stay with us recently and was telling us about Sunderland coz he lives there. He says Sunderlandâs ground is the oldest in the world and dates back to Creation. In the book of Genesis, God says âLet there be light - and there was light - the Stadium of Lightâ. Do you think thatâs trew? Apparently, there are two tunnels under the river in Sunderland, one for males and one for females. Theyâre called Mens UnderWear and Womens UnderWear. Isnât that interesting! Uncle Nehemiah also says that Sunderland is the second most popular place in Europe for pilgrimage after Lourdes in France. This is because something happened in 1814. There was a shepherd boy tending his flocks on the hills when he suddenly saw a ghostly apparition. He was frightened but the figure spoke to him and reassured him. âDo not be afraid peasant boy. I am Steve Bruce and I will be the manager of your football club in the 21st century. I will bring success but I will also go on and on about how we will be cheated by refs making the wrong decisions and how bad other teams pitches will be.â Well, the boy stopped being afraid and got bored instead and wandered off home. Can any Sunderland fans verify this story??
All true, I know becuase I was behind the bushes, no inside loos in those days, when Phil Colins, genesis was talking to God, Niall Quinn. It is rumoured that a man called Gadaffi is in those tunnels.
Ha! So we do now know who Mr Gullible is! I always thought Niall Quinn had something benevolent about him...
Niall Quinn, great striker and a TOP man! Loved the story some years back when Niall heard that one of his former horses (believe he owned racehorses at the time) was being kept in pretty crap circumstances somewhere in the USA - some sort of desert area, dry, horrendously hot with little grass. He bought the horse and had it transported back to the UK where the horse was able to see out its final years comfortably in a good environment. Great story and says heaps about the guy. Nice to see footballers in a good light for a change. Rock on, Niall, I'll always be a fan - but not on Saturday!!
B@ll@cks and double b@ll@cks! Rushed out of the house too quickly this morning and forgot to change usernames before posting the thread Oh well, the cat's out of the bag. Criminals always make a mistake in the end
Ivoralljack, Niall Quinn was a terrific player, one of my favourites,so I liked the horse story very much. I always thought that john hughes was Mr. Gullible, just shows how easily I can be mislead. I quite liked Mr.G.,he was a harmless bit of fun. I miss him already.
It's SAFC (Sunderland Association Football Club) You may think we are a "small town outside Newcastle" I'll disagree. Whatever though. It's better than being a small town outside England.
Like your banner, but your history's crap. On the first day God created Sunderland On the second he created Roker Park On the third he created Gary Rowell, Charlie Buchan, Len Shackleton, Marco Gabbiadini, Super Kev and Niall Quinn and all the other future legends On the fourth he created money so that one day Ellis Short would have plenty to keep SAFC in the top flight On the fifth he decided that Roker wasn't up to scratch and so created the Stadium of Light On the sixth he created the earth, the birds of the air, the fish of the sea, the beasts of the field and all the other **** Feet up on the seventh with a cold beer
There's Swansea City, Cardiff City, Norwich City, Manchester City, Leicester City, Exeter City, Coventry City....and Sunderland City. Wot's the problem?
