Surely just take it as pay. It needs to be taxed at some point.

The loan makes no sense so I would question what they mean. They might withhold 33% to allow for Tax or they may need to show that the loan does not appear as a tax free benefit. Or it could just be an admin error. Doubt any big employer puts effort into stealing 50 quid off an employee.

Interesting to see the details. But hope it all works out.

I now see why we won 4-1. Apparently my Geordie friends, man and wife living in Ayr, arrived home to find the 'orns 1-0 up. As my mate and I have seen a few Newcastle - Watford games, and thus he is a registered 'orn, they both cheered us on. I think it was relief from bad family times with her dad now waiting to pass the final door plus some complications (stressed times).

They sat on the sofa, forgot their woes and cheered us on. 1-1 and can't be :emoticon-0107-sweat. Then the goals came :1980_boogie_down::emoticon-0158-time:.

For them I'm glad we took their minds somewhere else for a couple of hours.

Of course my mate would like us to send Jannie back north <cool>

Am still waiting to hear back from my son. It's just annoying that this sort of thing happens - needlessly in my opinion. I suspect that he will just accept that he has to wait for next month's pay packet - and in the meantime, call upon the Bank of Dad...

Spain is like that. It allows the corrupt upper classes: politicians, footballers, princesses, mayors, bankers to get away with theft and keep most of their ill gotten gains. Then the Spanish say: why does Gibraltar not want to be Spanish, and why does Catalunya want indy?

If anyone wants a reason not to doubt Brexit has some good points they need look no further than Spain. A large powerful country in the past that lost all credibility through dishonesty. C'est la vie :emoticon-0106-cryin

Cheers. Good opportunity to reflect on where we are going.. I get the oap in two months and my wife retires from her job in May. Plus health a bit challenging these days.

Its common for large company's to do payroll once per month .Company's can charge a fee to arrange a loan (most of the time this will be in the form of a cheque) The company is in the wrong but they can make you wait .But not if you leave.

Yup here in Cadiz the heating is turned up. Retire to southern Spain doesn't mean forgetting winter. That said we have had several days over 20C already this year.

Yorkie, are you thinking of moving to Spain? Or just taking a chance to relax and think?

Yorkie here my spanish family are taking the p***. They asked why a guy from Yorkshire was a 'orn. Then laughed about you coming to Spain and finding cold north winds. I guess I made it worse when describing Yorkshire. I said 'abeja' being bee when I meant 'oveja' being a sheep.(They sound very similar as here they pronounce the B and V the same) <laugh>

I think I'll keep my Watford thooughts to myself. Enjoy the rest of your stay <cheers>

Morning all, the sun is out and a slow thaw has set in, but the wind is from the north, so it does not feel any warmer. More snow forecast for tomorrow.

A man has been cutting down some dead trees across the field before they topple into the lane. His chain saw has been well used as he logs them up, but there is a constant smell of wood smoke as he burns up the small pieces. It was the first thing I noticed when I woke up, and not the smell of my feet. :emoticon-0105-wink:

No I spent my growing years in Herts and supported Watford from the age of 8..moved to leave and work in Leeds around 25 years ago. Our youngest daughter born and bred in Leeds is a hornet [emoji3].

Just visiting me friends who have just retired out here.

Spain is lovely, my parents spent 16 years in Xabia /Javea. But we bought a cottage in central France not too far from Frenchie some years back.. So unlikely to come down here except to visit..
