Anderson has acted like it's a given that the council will vote in his favour to give Everton the loan, he must be stupidly over confident or he must have canvassed the councillors to be as confident as he is.

But the Lancashire police investigation into Liverpool Council Chief executive Ged Fitzgerald appears to be drawing Mayor Anderson into it, him being interviewed under caution doesn't look to good, he denied he was under caution when interviewed but the police say he was.

It's all come at a bad time considering the proposed loan to EFC, would Everton be able to sue the council for money already lost if it goes tits up?

What money already lost? Joe has spent £4m of the council's money improving Everton's training facilities #thatwentwell

Yeah, but like Everton have spent money on the dock venture, but who's money?

The clubs, Moshiri's or the council or through a joint venture with the lands former owners?

Oh yeah those multiple contractors they had to bring in to work out that building on water is more expensive than building on land.

And all those tickets for Dan Meis to watch Everton playing against big clubs.

Are you going to wait until Allardyce has packed his bag before looking for a new manager like with Koeman? I think you're wasting what's left of the season. There's no chance of you going down, and even if you were I don't think Allardyce could even help you how abysmal he's been recently. Might as well get the new guy sorted and in ASAP.

TBF you're probably waiting to see how Fat Joe's police investigation goes since he's expressed interest in the manager's position.

The council aren’t providing a loan, they’re setting up an SPV which will generate them generate a decent annual return for merely allowing access to their credit line.

Part of the agreed takeover. Since he got his hands on the shares he hasn't paid a penny. You even had to wait for the Barkley cheque to clear before you could #confirm Cenk <laugh>

"Way less" than £10m? Allardyce alone is on £6m/year. So maybe something like £8m total payoff?

    They're gonna hang him.

Tbf, it would be cruel to give him another prison term on top of the one he has at OT.

I don't know which way it will go. The original story about the loan said Joe had proposed it but not put it before the committee. I'm guessing if it's good for the city and makes financial sense, it will be passed.
