Allardyce is just doing Allardyce as usual, which tbf is why Everton brought him in, because a few months ago they were abject relegation fodder ... survival and a mid-table-ish finish is a good result for them this season then a lot of work over summer and pre-season, probably with a new manager

I think he gets a lot of unfair ****. Everyone knows what he's about and when it comes to keeping teams up he's pretty much a master

Could be wrong but they gave Allardyce an 18 month contract worth £3m, they aren't going to pay off his contract after 6 months, pay compo to another club for a manager, then give the new manager a well paid contract.
They'll just let Allardyce have next season and look for a new manager after it finishes imo.

 

That'll just condemn them to another season of treading water though. Surely with the changes at the club they'll be looking to move on?

 

Yeah maybe, would have been better for them to bring fat boy in for the remainder of this season and then review whether or not to give him an extension to his contract, but they had to entice him out of self imposed retirement and had to give him something that made it worthwhile for him in his opinion.

Everton had better hope that Mayor Joe Anderson is clean as a whistle in the "Operation Sheridan Investigation", the Lib-Dem leader on the City Council is causing a **** storm for Anderson and if the mayor doesn't survive the investigation I can't see the council voting in favour of the loan to EFC.

Kemp and Anderson don't get on to the point of being openly hostile to each other, so this is probably personal more than anything. Depends which side of the fence the other councillors fall. Joe's been acting very strange since he lost the Walton MP nomination to a youngster, he thought he had it sewn up.

 

Theyre 7 points above relegation and on course for 45 points which would avoid relegation by 5-7 points normally. It’s only because 18th place is on for 35 points that they look comfortable.

So many teams are crap this season so there are lots on low points, but 35 points will easily keep you safe too

Won’t happen like that mate. We were prepared to pay £10m to Watford to release Silva, paying off Allardyce and his crew in May will come in way less than that. I’d have good money on Allardyce leaving in May, he’ll have done what we wanted him to do, but he’s not the man to actually build something at Goodison.
