Under the influence of Elijah Mohammad - who preached that blacks should refuse to integrate with "white devils" - Ali made a point of dating only black women and lashed out at men and women who engaged in interracial sex. In an interview with Playboy, he declared: "A black man should be killed if he's messing with a white woman." When the interviewer asked about black women crossing the colour barrier, Ali responded: "Then she dies. Kill her, too."

It's unlikely that a white athlete who made such remarks would receive the praise that Michael Mann heaps on Ali. He says that the fighter "personified racial pride and self-knowledge". The Playboy journalist, who interviewed the boxer, was closer to the mark when he observed of his subject: "You're beginning to sound like a carbon copy of a white racist."

Muhammad in an interview about 40 odd years ago, seems like a nice chap <ok>

Did you read the article? GC Golden Rule doesn't actually require you to read it but you might have found out it is not the world famous Mr Ali but this big eyebrowed chap

I know it is him, the fact Simon said it was a British boxer kind of gave it away, oh yeah and also the fact that the other Muhammad Ali is dead set alarm bells ringing, you ****ing idiot!!

Your initial post made no reference to the original article and your subsequent comments appear to be a hasty attempt at covering up for your mistake. Simon's headline was 'Muhammad Ali Drug Cheat' and despite the fact that the article included reference to him being British you sought fit to publish comments from an article concerning the "other" more famous Mr Ali. The Muhammad Ali drug cheat headline in the OP clearly proved to be click bait enough to ensnare you.

It is my assertion that you "popped in".

Muhammad Ali: British boxer banned for two years after positive test - http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/boxing/42957650

Which part of the above do you think made me think that the story was about the British boxer?!

Iain even failed to notice the most obvious clue of me posting a pic of the original butterfly under Si's post...reaching out suggesting not me....

I'm guessing Iain is just stoooooooooooooooopid!

If you knew it was the British boxer why did you think it necessary to post a reply about the American Muhammad Ali?

Shirley if you'd read the article and thought "Oh I get it, Simon has click-baited us into thinking THE Muhammad Ali was a drug cheat but it turns out to be some scrotey arab instead, what a jolly jape" and then said "Talking of famous boxers called Muhammad Ali, you might find this interesting......" I wouldn't have had a problem with it.

    You Sir have popped.

Not popped at all, I had read the article this morning before Si had even posted this sorry excuse of a thread. I even said that the quote was 40 odd years old so people wouldn´t think the quote came from the guy in the article ffs

    So it wasn't a pop?

You'd previously read the latest BBC article about the British drug cheat this morning before Simon's post but thought that in reply to it you'd post a 40 year old article about the infinitely more famous American icon Muhammad Ali and expect us to think the two are in no way connected?
