Apathy is the best way forward. No set of fans can do anything to alter the direction a chairman wants to go. Chanting, protesting and boycotting won’t do a damn thing. Income is generated primarily through tv and sponsorship and that’s all they care about. It seems like accepting defeat but not getting suckered in anymore has stopped me getting all emotional come 5pm on a Saturday!

Don't think so mate. Though you may be getting confused with George Ormond (think that was his name), imprisoned around the millennium following accusations of abuse (can't recall the details). I think his case was similar but on a smaller scale and centred around NUFC youth teams. All a bit hazy but I'd have thought info was available online.
