The fact that we are at Wembley this season is a major factor for our decline. Last seasons home record was played 19 won 17 draws 2. This season small clubs like Burnley, Swansea and Chelsea have had some joy there. We moved at the wrong time. Next season we move again, even though it's our new ground, we will still need to adapt. And how is it punching above? It's not as though Poch is getting ****ing Andy Booth to play like Romario is it? These kids are talented and they are reaching their potentials with Poch. Poch is probably most of them kids longest coach in their short careers. All Poch needs is that money injection oh and maybe the competition being reduced from 5 other teams to 1 like it was in Wengers successful league campaigns and Poch might get there too.
Dunno why you seem upset about me saying poch is punching above with his money and buying players. Thats a good thing. Hes spending his money wisely and hes getting players worth far more than when he got them.
The point I was making that even a proven winner like Ferguson joining the biggest club in the land won nothing in his first few years so it's a bit much to expect Poch to do better.
He needs to be winning trophies pretty soon to ever be mentioned in the same bracket as SAF and Wenger IMO
If he can't start winning trophies at some point fairly soon, or at least getting close to winning something so it's clear there is potential for him to start winning trophies, then at what point do Spurs fans decide he isn't going to? Until he has some trophies under his belt he won't be considered anywhere near the level of managers like SAF, Wenger, Mourinho etc... Even with rival fans laughing at Arsenal and saying they hope we keep Wenger forever, him underperforming has included winning 3 FA Cups, 3 Community Shields and getting to the league cup final in 4 and a half seasons. Poch hasn't come close to emulating even that level of success let alone early Wenger or Ferguson level success. In fact even in Arsenals trophyless seasons while selling our best players constantly Wenger got to 2 league cup finals, a CL final and had a couple of years going close in the league. Poch needs to up his game to reach Wengers lowest level of success.
Poch has turned the sixth most expensive squad by transfer fees or wages into one that is competitive with the 5 more expensive ones. There are only three domestic trophies to go around so at most half of the top six can win one in any year. But if I had the most expensive squad I'd want Guardiola to manage it as he has the track record.
Spurs will smash next seasons "Turn the sixth most expensive squad by transfer fees or wages into one that is competitive with the 5 more expensive ones" Cup.
I don't think you quite get how crap we were and how big a mountain we had to climb. But Ramos won a trophy so must be the dogs bollocks
They won't get it....there was a poster yesterday who described Chelsea as being 'Millwall who won the lottery'. They haven't worked or earned so they won't get it
And 6 years later he won an FA Cup....sometimes you need a bit of luck and other peoples patience to keep your job and to be able to see out your plans. Poch is in his 4th season....no one within the club has an issue with him...it's everyone else
