A lot of fans seem quite worried about this. I know he did in St Truiden but that's his home town so I don't see that as a precedent. Any other reason to think he might do this at Charlton apart from speculation?

If the Australians are struggling to finance the takeover.

    To convert parts of it.

Should be worried because there's not a shred of evidence to show he'll walk away a with a financial loss.
He's lumped debt onto the Club, but he'll expect someone else to pay for it, Hence the £50M+ asking price.

Unless we get owners that have money to burn, which going by the rumours so far doesn't seem likely, I doubt there's a deal anytime soon.

..............for anything, good or bad, is there? It's all surmise and speculation. I doubt whether Richard Murray knows enough to say the sale will go through in February. Nobody's giving anything away. He may well be playing hardball, same as Mike AShley. If he really wants £50m he won't get a buyer, but who knows if he really is that stupid? The longer he hangs on the bigger the gap between what he wants and what he'll be offered, and we just have to hope that he realises that.

I thought DickPlumb had posted the takeover would be announced on 18th February (or maybe 19th, since 18th is a Sunday)

A poster on CL says a bid hasn't been made yet. Who does one believe.

I cop a deaf one to it all.

The only person that truly knows is Duchatelet.

    All the rest is noise.............

I think we should see where we are at the end of February. Simples.

    From Angel dust on ITTV.

Still no movement on this, and things have gone very quiet.
The question has to be asked as to why none of the interested parties have been granted a period of exclusivity?
Well I can tell you that it's nothing to do with the owner refusing to offer one. I'm told he would be happy to do so.
The truth is that none of the group's have asked or requested for one, which in my experience is unusual for a supposedly sought after commodity.
The club is,and in truth always has been a hard sell over the years.
This difficulty has been amplified somewhat by the current custodians efforts to run the club into a downward spiral in recent times.
A February disposal sounds very fanciful to me.

If Due Diligence is underway surely it’s normal for things to go quiet ?

Promotion or not, there is a count-down to the summer here.

If Roland Duchatelet has not sold the Club by the first week of June, there ought to be a wave of protests organised the like of which has not been seen before.
We cannot go into another season (Championship or League One) with RD and his regime still in contol of the Club.

Due diligence has been done on a couple of bids and is being done on the third bid. No firm bid has been submitted according to a poster on CL.

No one other than the two parties would know of NDA's also. Everyone has an opinion on the proposed takeover, but no real facts.

Is this what seems to have happened before? The buyers do their due diligence, work out a relative worth of what they are buying, and then see the difference between what they regard as a fair Price, and what Roland wants to recover all his losses. And all the while, the debt is growing. 'm not ITK, and don't know anyone who is (apart from posters on various fórum) but it does seem logical that at some point, Roland's daft Price (please pay for all my silly expenditure,as I'm rich and never pay for my own mistakes!!) is going to crash into the reality of Charlton Atletic as they are in 2018. The question is then that the buyers either a) try to negotiate a reasonable Price or b) trow up their arms and look at buying Brentford, Southend, Wimbledon or QPR. I read somewhere that DD can cost around 150,000 pounds. Way beyond me to pay but when you are considering paying over 25+ millions, it's not a lot and could well be a deal breaker if the difference between the buyer and seller is too wide. Again, the demand is for Roland to offload an expensive business. The buyers won't really be too marrie dto the idea of buying this club - there are others out there, some of which may be more realistically valued depending on their location, infrastructure and potential.

Murray still needs to square the circle after he told Charlton employees that the club “should” be sold in Feb. That suggests he has knowledge of the size of the bids and that Duchatelet is willing to accept one, even if it is below his ludicrous asking price.

Otherwise Murray would surely be guilty of misleading club staff ?
