No need to worry IMHO . We are trying to get back to the good old days of several saints acadamey players in the team . Let's blood the youngsters . If we are not prepared to be held to ransom , good on NC I say . Early days still , there is always the loan market and January trasfer windw and a few days left in August as well. Positive thoughts people , and I am ususually a pessemist
I can't wait until the transfer window is closed so we can look at our squad (whether we sign somebody or not) and realise we have enough strength in depth to make a challenge. If we can strengthen one or even two positions before the end of August then all the better as you can always improve, but it isn't crucial or as critical as some people make out.
Im not to worried as most of the players can play in multible positions, so injuries will never be a problem, And as long as seaborne keeps proving us wrong we will be ok
I think we're going to sign a CB within the next couple of days and maybe get a striker on loan from a Premier League club, someone like Nile Ranger from Newcastle?
Nile Ranger is nothing but trouble!! Still think we need an established CB whose experienced at this level.
Saints sacked Nile Ranger after involving himself in gang crime (muggings, steaming) but also bullying of other academy lads and generally being a ****ing idiot. It appears he still is.
Ranger isn't our kind of player. Posing with guns can get you or someone else killed. Why would you even want a replica gun?
Cortese also said he eventually wanted 40% of the squad to be made up of our own youth players - so i'm sure more and more youngsters will be brought into the team over time
I'm not disagreeing in the slightest with you, when I write this, but there's always the situation where you have the season in which injuries seem to multiply like a disease. There's no accounting for that. Teams don't win championships in those kind of situations, and often do poorly. That aside, Saints have got enough strength in depth for this particular league, and maybe enough for promotion out of it. Even in the Championship, there will come a time, during the season, where Saints will have to go to stadiums where the pitch isn't in the best of condition, because of some bloody awful prolonged weather patterns, and have to grind out, or slide and slush out, a win or two. We won't be able to play our passing game, in those conditions. Our capacity to win, draw or even narrowly lose that sort of game, in the depths of winter, will mark out our season. It's then that we'll really know whether we needed that extra CB or not.
