Apparently, 10,000 Leeds fans were asked who your next manager should be <rofl>

Wonder if Barnsley will appoint TC doing better in his first championship season than what they have just got rid of <ok>

I dunno, even our budget could stretch to a 2nd hand van, a screwdriver and a bit of gaffer tape he's used to working with.

    SO, Heckythump it is.

Read a lot of fans comments, both on here and in articles, most don't seem happy with the appointment, question is,
is heckythump a step up from TC, or a step down.

Both TC and Hecky are up and coming young managers who saw Leeds as a step up for them.
I think it's fair to say, we can call that one par.

Hecky gets the nod over TC cos he's English, knows the Championship, and knows English football.

Hecky gets a better squad with some being more skillfull players, how he manages those players
remains to be seen, but he does have a better squad of players.

TC lost the dressing room imo, Hecky has the mountainous task of getting the players on side. This may well be made easier for
him as the players may up their game to prove their worth to the new coach.

What we have to look at is, if the players all of a sudden up their game, is it because TC left, and they're feeling more relaxed and comfortable,
or is it to impress the new coach. Training styles will certainly change, if we eventually see the players with more long lasting stamina and energy, then
it does tell a story about the different training styles.

Should we see the players start giving 110%, it also tells a story about how they were feeling, both physically, mentally and emotionally under TC.

If our passing improves, our shooting improves, and our goals scored improves, it also tells a story about the different levels of training, and the differences between TC and Hecky.

For the above to happen though, the players need to feel more enthused, excited and inspiration driven, this comes down to how Hecky manages, and treats his players, as a team, and as individuals. Hecky is going to want to create an impression at Leeds, not only with the club, but with the players, and of course, the fans; lose the fans at Leeds, and you tend to lose your job.

Young up and coming coaches tend to be more hungry, more hungry for success in all competitions, yet a young famished coach can make mistakes along the way if they allow their hunger to overtake, and control their ability to learn, and their will to succeed.

If Hecky manages to get us back in top 6, that will be deemed a success, as will playing better passing and attacking football, even if we came close.

Hecky is in, whether we agree with it or not, all we the fans can do is sit back and take note of any changes for the better, if, and when they do happen.

Hecky has his chance, it's up to him to take it.

    MOT.

Reading that made me think back to a few examples where maybe TC's man management was not as good as it should have been.
I can remember felix having a good game making some important saves and when asked if he would be congratulating felix later, TC said he had a goalkeeping coach to do that. Then there is the handling of Klitch who didn't having anything complimentary to say on his departure from Leeds. I don't think TC is aloof, but I did get the feeling that he had this distance between himself and the players....maybe he was someone who thinks too much. For all his faults, a Warnock type is obviously a better fit for the Championship when it comes to the battle. I could see Heckingbottom as a more down to earth type who hopefully the players can relate to more and fight for the shirt when it comes down to a scrap.

    Totally agree.

And remember how he benched Lasogga because he might have been tired after his wife had the baby. This was after he had showed massive commitment by staying in the UK and scoring goals for us instead of going back to Germany for the birth.

It is most definitely up to him to take this opportunity but you have to remember you just can't polish a turd.
