Let's at least look for some positives.
We wanted a British coach - tick
He's got Barnsley promoted and kept them in the division (so far)
We wanted someone that knows the championship -tick
Has cut his teeth and is taking a (massive) step up.
As someone said, similar to the Howard Wilkinson appointment?
As for the hating Leeds, talked in the dim and distant past about the rivalry in Barnsley where you were either Leeds or them and was taught to hate and want to beat Leeds so will know the passionate nature of the fans.
The above could all be bollocks but fingers crossed.

 

Sorry mate you’re deluded (saying it with a smile, sorry if it sounds curt) This is a cheap option of someone willing to put up with ****. He has had zero say on sales and will have zero say on signings. Why do people think Rads will be willing to pay Orta as director of football and believe a new coach will suddenly have a say. Really gutted at this appointment

Former defender Heckingbottom is regarded as one of the brightest young coaches in England after impressing in his role at Barnsley.

I thought Barnsley were hovering just above the relegation zone,,,how is that impressive??

We might as well have resigned Steve Evans. This is as bad an appointment as that. He won’t see 1 July.

He ticks the most important boxes.

2. No balls and Orta picks the players

I’d have rather had Clivetime back posting on this forum and Grayson appointed manager than Heckishedoing

 

Out of the last 16 games he won one. It’s impressive how they didn’t sack him and made Rad waste £400k to get him.

Its disappointed, don't get me wrong, but I'm 100% behind Heckingbottom until such time that he gives me reason not to back him.

Ok, what I don't get is that there far more support for TC a man (nice man) that only managed in the greek / cypriot league than a one with championship experience and a promotion from league 1 on his CV. Come on, where's your support for your fellow Yorkshireman ffs, give him a chance.
