As a summary, someone is arguing that we didn’t play a weakened XI away to Lokeren but then admits that it was a weaker XI than the cup final team, as if that helps his argument.
I never admitted that. We picked a team to win a game that we should have drawn but for a gk error. Eight of the team that played away started the home game. Injuries and fitness all played a part in the month of August. Just ****ing tarts like you can't or won't see that.
We got what we deserved in Belgium, we were ****ing terrible. It was good fortune that we came away with just a one goal deficit.
You said 10 of the cup final team played away at Lokeren as if to confirm that means it was a strong team. You then admitted only a fraction of them started. That means it was a weaker team. All you’ve done is confirm the point you were trying to argue against.
I'm not sure how 10 of the cup final team played if Sharon is right about only 4 starting. Did we get to use 6 subs?
I thought exactly the same hence I didn’t quote the 4 starters. The numbers aren’t really the point though, after using the cup final analogy to make his point he himself then admitted they didn’t start, hence making the opposite point.
This is a bizarre debate, we quite obviously played a weakened team away at Lokeren and pretty much everyone was pissed off about it at the time.
Agreed. In most discussions even if you disagree you can at least understand where the other person is coming from but this just makes zero sense. I’m annoyed at myself for even getting sucked in to be honest.
was a bloody awful game that and no one looked arsed about it. Was still nice to see city in a European away game though. Why couldn't bruce have taken that competition seriously
3 of the subs who came on at lockeren were in the final squad and three of the subs who came on in the final were in the lockers squad - only 4 of the final squad started at lockeren - chaz knows that but he's acting like a **** because he didn't want to admit that Brucie ****ed up Europe
All Steve Bruce's fault. Well shot of that **** ****. Everything good that happened was luck during his tenure or down to Agnew, clemence the Allams etc etc Everything bad was cos he's a dinosaur, no plan B, can't use email. Simple innit. Onwards and
He was good initially .... until he got money to spunk. Exactly as Sunderland fans came on here and predicted would happen. This led to the Allam's refusing to support him with more money. I don't understand pretty much everything the Allam's have done to our club, but this is one thing I can understand and agree with, albeit the way they handled his departure was appalling. Bringing in his own son was a stupid thing to do; it was always going to be controversial and divisive.
Jeez why are we bickering about Europa League squads from 4 years ago when we're in the championship relegation quagmire and the prospect of European football will now be restricted to a kick about pre-season at Sparta Rotterdam second XI if we're lucky..
Ye wanting to buy Andre gray for five million what a ****ing idiot. Glad he went to burnley instead and oh wait a minute. Money to spunk what a ****ing idiot you are. What like Danny Graham as a loan centre forward. Or jay Simpson. Look how much ****ing money he brought in for the Allams. **** Sunderland fans
Cos shazz is trying (failing) to prove his point. Most people realistically thought that City whimpered out of Europe, whoever the players were, against weaker opposition. shazz however thinks it was because Bruce told McGregor to make a mistake in the away leg v Lokeren. He'll be on he blathering about some old tosh and wrap himself up in riddles even more. Still he's got the formation and players v Forest to predict yet, something for him to look forward to. ALLAMS OUT !!!
You are a right obnoxious, infantile twat. One of those knobs who argues black is white. You'll probably take all that as a compliment. I'll try not to waste any more of my time on you, you don't deserve it. Even better, just **** off eh.
