Pochettino clearly has something about him, but I think that any other "top" manager would have won at least a League Cup by now. Wenger has won more in the last few years with half the squad Spurs have so I think it's harsh to say Poch is the new Wenger when, really, he's not fit to lace his boots.
Tactically I think he’s far better than Wenger, as he adapts constantly and will change if he’s called it wrong. Wenger has always been stubborn and steadfast, Poch is studious, detailed and very intelligent. He’s done a brilliant job at Spurs, anyone who says otherwise simply doesn’t understand the game imo.
So, if the opportunity presented itself, who would you want to be your next manager out of Wenger and Poch?
Given one is about 40 and the other is nearing 140, you know that's a daft question. The question is, who has been more successful since Poch came to Spurs? The answer is, undoubtedly, Wenger.
1. For the Library era, that seems to be true for Wenger. Before then, difficult to say (less forensic scrutiny when you are winning the PL from time to time) . 2. There appears to be some dogma in Pochettino too. For example, formations and playing style when dealing with the Wembley busparquet.
Not really, because past success doesn't count today and for the next match. It'd be Poch for footballing reasons.
There is not much difference between a 45 year old Wenger and Pochettino as he is now, but it remains to be seen if the latter can go on and emulate the former's record. I think that some of Wenger's teams have produced the best football that I have ever witnessed in the PL and Pochettino's teams haven't reached the same level yet. It's futile comparing the Wenger of the last ten years with the current Poch IMO.
Yeah, the footballing reasons being that he's got about 30 years left in terms of top flight management. Plenty of opportunities to improve. Right now Wenger is simply better. Wenger, with your side, would have won the league the year that we did.
The way you lot went on you'd have thought you did have Messi in your team Don't take it personally mate, I just think Wenger is the superior manager. I'm sure you won't get too annoyed
