Wasting your time. If we ever criticise anything we're just moaners. All of our visitors are entirely objective and just want to see justice done.

How can you include VVD, he was poor for Southampton this season before you got him, and he's been **** since you've had him, 2 PL games, and 2 errors that have lead directly to goals.

Please get real if you think Robertson is better than Davies, and he's not better than Danny Rose either.

Dier is definately better than Can. I struggle to even see how you can come to that conclusion. Even your own fans spend most post game match threads slating Can.

Il give you Firminho at a push, as Alli isn't having as good a year as last year, but I think in terms of potential Alli will be better.

Salah is genuinely the only player you have that would be a guarentee in Spurs side.

Alderweirld is injured.. hence wasn’t included. Gomez didn’t play hence wasn’t included. Davies not convinced, he’s average and doesn’t really offer much offensively and defensively. Robbo has been solid all season and no one thinks Moreno should be in team.

Again Wanyama isn’t even spurs first choice cm so how he gets in I don’t know. One fluke worldie doesn’t make you a good player, Dembele is twice player he is. And if you’re going to be stupid and play eriksen as a holding midfielder then I just can’t take rest seriously.

Well the other option is Dejan many mistakes Lovren, or Davison I can’t kick a football Sanchez so VVD gets in by default.

Rosr is injted so out wuestion, Davies is meh.

Dier is meh, he’s not a CM in my opinion.

wanyamas been injured for most of this season.

Davies has 2 goals and 5 assists so is far more productive and is probably better if not as good defensively than Robbo.

If you're talking about just last nights team and is that on last nights performance as well? If so that's a different question rather than a combined spurs pool 11.

I'd like to see where Liverpool would be in the table if they didn't play at Anfield for a season <ok>

By the end of the season I'm convinced you won't be ahead of them. You needed to build a gap in this tough run of fixtures Spurs have had, but it looking like its stayed the same. They remain within 1 game of you.

Chelsea's decline is the only thing I see saving Liverpools top 4 hopes.

VVD isn't any better than any of them, don't be fooled by the 75 million price tag. He's been crap since you've had him, and he hadn't been playing well for Southampton before that.

All fit though, you probably do only have 2 players that would get in their team, and 1 of them is debatable. But carry on thinking your side is better <laugh>

Having flicked thru the thread glad i decided to log off & get pissed instead.
Before KO i would have taken a draw and deffo would at 1-1 but feel gutted we couldn't show the composure to hang on for a whole 2 mins :emoticon-0121-angry

Wished we had made more of the positions we found ourselves in the first half where a lack of precision and at times indecision cost us. Seond half thought we were crap and ended up just trying to hang on for 30 mins.
I hate it when Klopp brings on another CB as it just concedes the MF to the opposition and an extra defender tbh doesn't help us if anything it just causes (more) confusion in our backline.

On the pens my initial reactions were
    1.dive
    2.pen

and i'll stick with that just wish it hadn't been yesterday that a lino decided to actually make a decision :emoticon-0183-swear

oh & Mo Salah take a bow son <applause>

Ah well, not many Leicester players would have got in any of the top 6 teams either but they did ok.

Apparently the table doesn’t lie, although that doesn’t apply when it comes to Liverpool I guess.

I think he’s suggesting that playing in front of 80k Home fans every other week at Wembley is making spurs suffer.

I didn't comment last night as I'd been up 20-odd hours and went straight to bed after the game, but I'd just like to make these points:

    1) Spurs were well worth a point: we needed to go in three or four up by half time (and should have been). After about 55 minutes our legs just completely went, but's that's how we play the game.

Both big decision were right: I didn't like the ref saying he didn't know whether Lovren touched the ball or not -but he was still giving it. But Karius 'touched' him with his shoulder, tbh, in much the same way Suarez was brought down a few seasons back against Villa. A goalie can't dive out, spread themselves and pull away their hands at the last moment and expect not to get a pen against them. The second one was a pen too - a bit like the one Skrtel gave away at WBA a few seasons ago: he didn't see him and didn't mean to give it away, but he did.

I thought we did well out of VRA against WBA last week, so we shouldn't whine now. But I am irked at the Lovren thing (apart from him being a ****ing carthorse). When did they change that rule back? I remember being a young teenager in '78 at Goodison Park when we were 1-0 down to THAT Andy King goal. In the second half a through ball was played (by Case, I think) to David Johnson who was a yard offside. An Everton defender (Darracot?) stuck out a leg and diverted it to Johnson, who rounded the goalie to score against his old club, only for it to be promptly (and rightly) disallowed as the rule had just changed. So here's my question: if that through ball is a yard to the side of Lovren, but he cannot risk it going through to Kane in case the lino has missed the offside (you play to whistle and all that) and he stretches to intercept and just get a tip-toe deflection to put it in Kane's path - is it still onside? Seems terribly unfair.

As for that goalie and the equaliser - there was a time Tommy Lawrence would have simply come out and bounced that cross on the floor and picked it up. Clem would have caught it and threw it out to the halfway line in one movement to start another attack: why the **** can't goalies catch a ****ing ball any more?

But fair result, and I have to say that if we get top four this season it'll have to be at the expense of Chelsea, not Spurs. They will finish above us, they had a stronger bench than us and they've had their wobble. they're a better team, full stop.

Clattenburg doesn't know the Offside Law then:

"A player in an offside position at the moment the ball is played or touched by a team-mate is only penalised on becoming involved in active play by:
    • interfering with play by playing or touching a ball passed or touched by a team-mate or
    • interfering with an opponent by:
    • preventing an opponent from playing or being able to play the ball by clearly obstructing the opponent’s line of vision or
    • challenging an opponent for the ball or
    • clearly attempting to play a ball which is close to him when this action impacts on an opponent or
    • making an obvious action which clearly impacts on the ability of an opponent to play the ball
    or
    • gaining an advantage by playing the ball or interfering with an opponent when it has:
    • rebounded or been deflected off the goalpost, crossbar or an opponent
    • been deliberately saved by any opponent
    • A player in an offside position receiving the ball from an opponent who deliberately plays the ball (except from a deliberate save by any opponent) is not considered to have gained an advantage.
A ‘save’ is when a player stops, or attempts to stop, a ball which is going into or very close to the goal with any part of the body except the hands/arms (unless the goalkeeper within the penalty area)."

Kane did none of the things that are to be penalised before Lovren deliberately touched the ball so the last bullet point applies and he isn't penalised for being offside.

The Lamela situation is covered by a further clarifying paragraph later in the Law:
"In situations where: .....a player in an offside position is moving towards the ball with the intention of playing the ball and is fouled before playing or attempting to play the ball, or challenging an opponent for the ball, the foul is penalised as it has occurred before the offside offence".

So it doesn't matter that Lamela was in an Offside position before he was kicked.

I completely agree, essentially penalises Lovren for trying to clear.
Personally I wonder if the Offside Law is needed at all, but if it is then it needs to be a lot simpler than it currently is.
