Having that incredible game this afternoon, I just hope we don't mess around with the ball at the back in the first half. The Scouse press is tough to beat so I hope we move it up front quicker now we have a proper centre forward who looks like he has settled in after a good game yesterday
ah ha there you go. Half of us will insist on the same team again. Half will insist on a team more suited to defend against an attacking Liverpool. Most will claim MP2 is out of his depth in the Premiership. (unless we win) It's far easier from here!
Yeah, in all fairness the togetherness and team spirit has been there all season - both quality (in the final 3rd)and confidence are what's been lacking, but not the willingness.
As much I like the player, I hope SD doesn't get near our starting 11 again, He just isn't good enough.
Analyse that game - Boufal and Carillo came on at half time. The only real difference was Davis and Højbjerg played and Lemina didn't (maybe there was a reason Lemina didn't play) and many people wanted Højbjerg to play against West Brom. So it's either Davis's fault or Højbjerg's that we didn't win. Obviously Davis as he's this months whipping boy?
Would it be possible to accidentally show the ex-Saints into the home dressing room and somehow lock them in?
Nope. The whole tone for the evening was set by the starting teamsheet. Fans, players and all should have had a lift with the new signing starting and not playing Lemina is virtually criminal.
Play to win. McCarthy Cedric Stephens Hoedt Bertrand Hojbjerg Lemina JWP Boufal Tadic Carilla Bench- Yoshi, Forster, Long, Sims, Gabbiadini, Romeu, Davis
I take a double dose of my blood pressure tablets for saints games these days and this match will be no exception.
They would struggle to find a team, but, on the other hand, we'd miss out on a Lovren and/or VVD cock up.
Dear footballing gods, Let Hoedt and Stephens produce a defensive masterclass in this game, plus a Stephens goal of course....just so the 'Pool fans begin to think they have wasted a fortune. Just give us this moment. Thank you, Fran.
We went to Watford when they were remembering the first anniversary of Graham Taylor’s death, and ruined their day by not rolling over and gifting them three points, although the officials gifted them one. We went to WBA when they were celebrating the life of Cyrille Regis and ruined their day, by taking all three points. So, is there anyone in Liverpool FC’s history they can remember, on Sunday, so we have an extra incentive to raise our game?
