Looks like West Brom & Hudds are the nailed on, then I'd suggest it's between Swansea and Stoke for the final place. Don't get me wrong, we're crap and could get sucked down, but I just think Pards is hopeless for one, then with Hudds lacking any real quality they're next. Stoke's ageing squad and reliance on mercenaries vs Swansea's atrocious injuries. Just above them us and Brighton. Teams like Palace, Wet Spam and So'ton have too much quality and will dig out results.
There's a long way to go yet. I suspect you might change your opinion several times about who will go down before the end of the season. It will probably change week by week and I wouldn't discount West Brom at all.
Think all bottom ten teams are now fighting out for the three relegation places. There are still 36 points at stake and only one win separates 19th place and 11th. Reckon 38 points will be enough to stay up but to actually single out teams as nailed on at this stage is dangerous. We seem to be quite difficult to beat at the moment but its much easier to get over the line with a few wins. However reckon if we come out of the next 3 games with 3 points, however we do it, we can go on and survive. From a confidence and momentum point of view it would probably be better to get a draw in all of them but would be great to see us get a win against MANCHESTER United (the team from Manchester).
I think we will stay up. I can’t see how this wretched home form continues. The manager is aware of it and will do something about it. Away from home, we are set up just fine.
The one thing we have going for us is that there are 9 teams fighting us for those bottom 3 spots, and none of them look like conceding them to us without a fight. We're ****e but are we ****e enough ?
Jamie Redknapp hit the nail on the head. Out of the teams in and around us at the bottom, Rafa has by far the best CV. The transfer window has shut, we have what we have in terms of players. It's time for Rafa to show his pedigree and make what we have got work.
I've got a feeling that if we can get Slimani on the field that will give us a boost. He'll be desperate to get back to scoring goals, we do make chances but just can't take any of them.
Exactly. He has spent plenty of money and is supposedly the better manager. All he has to do is the job to the best of his ability and we should stay up. We have enough quality in the squad comparatively to get the job done. If people feel we don't, then that is his fault for misusing the 108m he's spent.
12 Games to go and only 4 teams from the bottom half of the table in there. Or to put it another way we have 5 of the top 6 and 8 of the top 10 to play Watford 11th Southampton 15th Huddersfield 19th West Brom 20th These are the games that will decide our fate IMO, win them all and we are looking at 37 points. Few sneaky 0-0's 1-1's agaisnt the rest and we will be fine but seriously seriously massive games for us!
Nope I’ve checked he has spent 108m. The club has generated that for him it’s spend whether through sponsorship, sales, etc. He has been given 108m to spend. I understand this makes uncomfortable reading for the RHC though.
Yes, he has spent £108 million selling players who proved themselves not good enough to stay in the Premier League and buying cheaper alternatives, thus generating a £12 million profit. That's an accurate statement, isn't it ? Your point, I believe, is that the cheaper alternatives he should have bought could have been better than the ones he did buy. Arguable, I suppose, but one would expect that the cheaper alternatives to a sub-standard group of players would be an even more sub-standard group of players. Maybe that's what we have: a squad less talented over all than the one that went down. If so, it is what we you would expect. If not, it is better than what we would expect, and a sign of wise investment. Either way, you would expect it to struggle to stay in the Premiership. And did you mean RFC (Rafa Fan Club) ? I haven't been able to figure anything out for RHC.
I also think that he bought Championship work horses to do the job that he knew the PL prima donnas wouldnt and didnt expect to not be able to replace most of them when he did get us promoted as Champions.
I can’t quite figure out how Spack thinks Rafa could or should have bought PL players when we were a Championship side?! The error has been presumably Lazaar. He was the only player who cost money that didn’t play a part in the Championship. Even Hanley played a few games and £4m for a reserve CB is surely acceptable? The point for me is that the PL money is paid in instalments, you don’t give it back!!! It’s money in the bank, with staggered payments based on appearances. Ashley and Charnley should have, like every other club in ththe ****ing history of the PL, given that money to Rafa in the Summer or now. Because the pair of them are moronic, they didn’t so Rafa has the lowest spend in the PL for this season. I’ve literally no idea how I can be any clearer.
