Or you were at home and they gave you too much respect?
We beat them at home, how did you do away to them?

I am one of those who thinks all decisions can effect a game. I actually think fixing a match is very easy and it can be done by one person. (Not that i think todays match was fixed)

I want to see the game clean or at the very least consistent. I dont understand why all decisions cant be completed off pitch with the ref on field being filtered the info via earpeice or via screen.

ALL convesations should be audible by the refs so we understand the process. Using today as the example, whilst i am not bothered (ish) about the decisions Dermot explaining the process of what the refs would have thought helps. I dont agree but i understand his line of logic. To me this would actually be the first step they should take.

If a throw in is given incorrectly it alters the game, simple cause and effect. I have ran tests in games at work on loads of occasions and i can get all major decisions in a five a side game correct and still guide which ever team i want to win. I think i have said this before but anyone who has played the games know those days when you feel the ref is giving you nothing, they can get the bigs decisions right but if all the 50/50s go against you, your head goes down, you lose a yard.
When did our attitude change in the second half, when spurs missed a pen, why - cause we thought it was our day, basic psychology this. It doesnt always work but 9/10 it does. Even pro fixers cant get it right every time (grobs 3-3 v Utd)

You can also analyse how refs react under pressure and assign them to certain games to get an influence to the result you desire. Some refs when faced with 49,000 screaming fans will side with them, some will go against them.

    Re the lino intimidation
I thought that liverpool did very well today as they could easily have lost their collective **** woth the lino but there was very little (not saying none) in terms of harrassing the lino, it couldhvebeen much worse.

As i said above i would have preferred the lino as ref today, whether he was right or wrong, he definitely was assertive unlike moss.

Yes, we've lost two games at Anfield in the last season and a half in the league because teams have been giving us too much respect. Nothing to do with our quality.

Let's just hope nobody clocks on soon that we are rubbish and easily beatable.

I would fancy Arsenal to put in a good finish too, Spurs have to get past St Tottering day yet and Liverpool could implode at any time against lower teams.
I would not be surprised with a top 4 of City, United, Chelsea and Arsenal but would not bet on it either the way Chelsea are performing. Very interesting next few months in store.

Sanchez, De Gea, Matic and Valencia would all get in.

I don't even doubt that they completely outplayed us in midweek, you won't find any arguments from me on that score. The majority of us United fans can admit that.

With the amount of money we have spent I find it quite embarassing the way we where outplayed Wednesday night.

Having said that though we where away from home, and we weren't thrashed as badly as you where when you went to Wembley, we also managed to beat them at OT, so we've performed better against them than you have this season.

I think Spurs are in a faulse position in the table really, as I think it's taken them a while to feel comfortable at Wembley. But I do think they are the 2nd best team in the country man for man, and I think they showed that today.

Is this an admission the league table can lie?
I agree with you btw on spurs, but the gap between spurs, utd, chelsea, us and arsenal is not big at all on any given day. Consistency is the difference.

At times it can, I wouldn't rank Real Madrid as the 4th best side in Spain for example.

I think the table when its this close makes for pretty false reading anyway. Today is a good example of that, if Kane converts the first penalty Spurs would've gone on to win, are we then saying Spurs are definitely a better team than us because of that 1 point difference? Its actually really silly when you think about it. It works the other way as well, Spurs aren't miles better than us because they beat us at Wembley, that **** happens, doesn't really mean a huge deal overall, its the table in May that counts.

There's one world class team in the Premier League this season and there's four very good sides just behind them, I reckon 2nd to 5th could go either way depending on a lot of factors including luck. To be honest I think a team from England could end up winning the CL and not finishing in the top 4, that's the level of quality we are talking about here.

    Nice answer :)
I have always thought it can lie :) had many many discussions about the topic, nice to hear someone else say it though .

Ps we did better against huddersfield over the two games than you did but it means nothing, same with tottenham results. Only thing that matters is league position, currently utd are higher than both us and spuds so.... :)

out of form <laugh> for one game! your the weird one if one bad game is out of form.

yes he had a **** game but Moureen subbing him in what looked like a bad tempered huff is not controversial to you?

and dropping him for mctominay wasn't a problem before the game for you?

    Really?

McTominay coming into the team is no problem for me (or any other United supporter I know), he is a good young player that will only get better with game time.

Does this go against the mantra of "Jose won't give youth a chance" or do you just not rate him?

I don't fancy any of the English sides in the CL.

I don't even think City can win it, as as controversial as it may sound I don't think Pep Guardiolas philosophy is the way you approach a champions league knockout game.

Yeah the guy has won 2 CL, but that was with Messi at his absolute peak, and Xavi and Iniesta at their peaks too. I think that was a case of the team being so good it didn't matter how he played.

I think his teams are to open defensively, and are easily exposed when they come up against other world class opponents. The way his Bayern Munich team was taken apart by the likes of Real and Barca supports this argument.

We all know he is never going to change his way of playing, but if he had been more like Jup Heynckes and been prepared to sit back and bully the likes of Barcelona physically, rather than pressing them and leaving Messi 1 on 1 with defenders. Then he'd of probably won the CL with them too. As they definitely had the players.

City are not good enough defensively at all, they just haven't been exposed often in the domestic game, as most sides are scared to attack them. But even in your game against them, the mad 15 mins they had, just shows how their defence will fold if you put it under pressure. This for me will happen in the CL, as their are loads of sides alot better than the opposition City have faced domestically. PSG, Bayern, Real, Barca, Juventus. These sides have the quality to take it to City's backline.

Until we sold couts i thought we had an outside chance, as we wee able of ripping teams apart. I actually think you or spurs can win it now, but we will see :)
Jose is capable of shutting out anyone and you are not just a park the bus side, more than capable of scoring. I think it will depend who you draw.
I would also have preferred someone like real madrid to porto, can see us glong out to porto as we wont turn up :(
