No doubt our mentality to take the "winner" on the chin and push for equalisor was excellent and commedable but we also wouldn't have been in that position if Harry hadn't have missed. Don't get me wrong, penalties get saved by keepers, some are great saves and some are poorly taken penalties, in this instance I found it poorly taken and that's why I'm disappointed. Kane deserves massive props for having the balls to take the second penalty and the way he slotted that one away is how I wish he hit the first, venomous and into a corner, a penalty is always good so to speak when it goes in but I still don't think hitting it down the middle is the best of choices. I wouldn't say I'm well pleased, I'm satisfied we deservedly got something out of a game in which we dominated in the second half but it's still an opportunity missed. As I said in previous posts, if I was offered a draw beforehand I'd have taken it but knowing full well we could've taken a 2-1 lead against a tired Pool with just a handful of minutes remaining, it's tough to feel chuffed about a draw in the end. A good point nonetheless but three would've been so much better in the position we're in.
BBC match report http://www.bbc.com/sport/football/42849447 Spurs snatch point with controversial late penalty at Liverpool "Jon Moss pointed to the spot after Virgil van Dijk collided with Eric Lamela"
Ultimately, their best 2 chances in the first half were Dier's dodgy backpass to Salah and Milner's deflected cross that almost crept in, if it weren't for Son being wrongfully called off we'd have had a great chance as well(Eriksen's shot). Tactically it was all wrong though. 2 upfront worked against Real because they play narrow and we had 3 at the back, meaning the wingbacks were more attacking. I've been guilty of wanting to see us do that more often but on the basis of today and Newport, I think we're much better off playing to our strengths in a 4231, or a 3521 if we're looking to be more solid.
For some reason I'd not seen that angle until now. That's actually a good little whack, initially I thought Lamela really made the most of a light tap but van Dijk has pelted him. For sure, Lamela acts like he's been shot but that's nowhere near as soft as I originally thought it was.
Klipperty`s sprint down the touchline and bitter post match interview was absolute comedy gold . I thought we dominated the game, first half was quite even and only a bad mistake let Pool in for the opening goal, other than that Lloris was largely untroubled. Second half we dominated the game, overall dominated the statistics and for once at Klanfield we saw some excellent correct decisions being made, apart from Salah being offside in the build up to his second goal, so not completely flawless. I thought Pool looked quite ordinary, they play at 100 mph, press defenders and feed off mistakes as well as sprinting after hoofs down field, they can`t do that for 90 mins though and they lack creativity when their legs have gone. If they lose Salah for any reason they could really start to struggle. Overall, a great second half performance and I thought we deserved 3 points, but sadly not to be. The main negative was Sanchez, he had a bit of a mare but hopefully he will learn from this game. I lush win against the Goons and 7 points from 3 tough games will be a very good return. COYS

Amongst the tears and gnashing of teeth, some poor deluded Mouser is saying that Lamela should have been booked! You can't make this **** up
Sorry to correct you, but in Mouser law any opposition player who gets a penalty decision at Anfield that could cost the Poool pts, gets an immediate booking.
I watched that match in a busy pub comprising half Mousers and half Yids. It was hilarious! Great banter on both sides. No one could believe Wanyama's goal... what a cracker! The Mousers were stunned into silence, but all agreed it was World Class. No arguing with a strike like that. Then came Salah's goal, bringing back memories of Ricky Villa's Wembley classic It was our turn to watch in mute admiration as the Mousers got out their bunting and started dancing to Cilla Black hits. Then, that final crazy last 5 minutes! **** me! That was a rollercoaster of a ride! The pub was in absolute uproar! The bar-staff looked like they would **** themselves at any minute, but it was great amongst us fans! The best bit of the evening was when Sky kept replaying Alli's dive! I've seen Mousers in full animation, but nothing quite like that!
Klopp thinks Kane was offside for the first penalty even though the pass clearly deflected of Lovren, in that case so was Salah on the first goal, when Dier played the ball through for him.
The guy is creepy as ****. If he wasn't the manager of a major football club he'd probably be one of those people near speaker's corner running around chasing pigeons with a rolled up big issue.
Crazy Liverpool! They get a giveaway goal in 2 minutes,Spurs miss a penalty....and they still can't win. We are doing our darndest to get you in the CL.....but you keep screwing up. Perhaps you are trying too hard, dear boys. Poor old Klopp .Putting on his best Adolf face!
