Err I know the seasonhad started. Jelavic was late back from preseasonas he was at the World Cup. Four days previous we played for 80 minutes with ten men after Chester was sent off. Jelavic played up front on his own in that game. Hudd was ****ed from playing in a team with ten men. Abel didn't sign uuntil after the lokeren game.
He was fit enough to play against a mid table side from Belgium. Croatia didn't even make it out of the group stage at the World Cup, which was over for them on the 23rd June. The Lokeren game was at the end of August. How much rest did he need?
You agree he came back for preseason later than the others good. We played with ten men for 80 minutes 4 days previously. JeLavic played in that. He was ****ed as was tom.
He came back later, but pre season didn't start until July. He was back in the country by the end of June. He then played 90 minutes in the opening day win over QPR. Steve Bruce didn't seem to think he was that tired. If he was, he could have started Aluko instead. So there's no point trying to say he was too tired, he wasn't. Sorry, but Bruce ****ed it. I don't know why you're so determined to say he didn't, he did.
what you talking about silly **** - we lost the first leg - we won the second leg - the problem was the first leg - we lost with a second string team - that's the point - Brucie ****ed it up - nothing to do with fitness, nothing to do with 10 men and being players ****ed, all to do with blowing it at their place using your perverse logic when we played Derby in the play off semis - we won 3 0 at their place and they won 2 0 at ours - most people would argue Derby lost because of the home leg - you would argue they should have scored 4 at ours
Because you wouldn't play a playerwhose been at a World Cup in every game. Jelavic didn't play at all in the win against trencin. Why was that? We'd sold long and didn't have a replacement. That's why. So he wasn't going to flog his star centre forward in every game in August.
Second string!!! We had Maguire rosenior and mcshane playing!! Second string my arse. You must have been knocking one out to that line up.
Huddlestone, Livermore, Robertson, Elmo, Jelavic on the bench - Davies left out - definitely second string - BRUCIE ****ED IT UP - deal with it - if you need any more proof, Meyler started which more than demonstrates Brucie didn't take it seriously
I notice you choose not to mention Figueroa or Sagbo starting. We ****ed it up not because we lost but because we didn’t score an away goal. Losing 2-1 would’ve been fine.
I chose who I chose cos Charon ****s about how great they are and not Alex. We lost cos of a gk error. The game was nil nil until greegsy made a complete **** up. Why are you bothered? Self imposed exilewasnit it? Oh but you'd still do away in Europe as it suited you. Great.
What was the score before the goal went in? The idea in a two legged tie is you get an away goal, not an away clean sheet.
You can't put our exit down to one mistake.... It's like saying we will go down this season because of the referee's error against Preston. After Greggsy's error we had plenty of time to put it right. Bruce should of played our strongest XI, I don't give a **** if we went down, I wanted a trip around Europe. Finishing 17th every year means nothing to me, but taking Hull City into Europe would of being amazing. As was going to the FA Cup final. As I said at the time I would of taken winning the cup and going down. It's not like resting those players for one or two games was going to suddenly make them so much fitter to keep us up!
What makes you think I’m ‘bothered’? Ask any manager if 0-0 is a good away score in the first leg, they’d say it’s massively dangerous. As for my ‘exile’ I assume you mean when I said I wouldn’t set foot in our stadium until the owners have left the club, something I’ve maintained for 4 years. I’ve always gone to away games during this period. I’ve never claimed anything different, so to mention it is a bit odd.
http://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/fo...ing-second-fiddle-Steve-Bruce-s-son-Alex.html he was definitely at the bottom of the Steve Bruce pecking order
When the team was announced the entire away end gave a collective “what the ****?” To claim it wasn’t a second string team is really odd.
We went out of the UEFA cup because Brucie wasnt interested in it. There was also some City fans I spoke to at the time that didn' t really want to be in it. There' s just to much interest in money as opposed to winning things nowadays. For a club like us in a once in a lifetime experience to pay lip service to it is totally disrespectful.
Reading all the posts slagging Bruce off. The Aston Villa fans seem to be pleased with him. I'd rather be in their position than ours. I think he just got fed up of the Allams in the end.
