You clearly have no understanding of what is meant by "in the vernacular" when describing common expressions - so I'm not going to bother to explain it. Chap in front of me at the match was coming back from the lav when Bamba 'accidentally' took out Pontus. He had occasion to watch it on the internal tv loop, which was showing the incident from various angles. He came back & reported that Bamba elbowed Pontus & then stamped on him. I was not party to this screening myself, so cannot add to it. From memory, though, I seem to recall that the ball was well up the park when Bamba had his little 'accident'. He was also moving goalwards at the time. Why would he be walking towards his goals when the ball was being played 30-40 yds behind him, up towards the halfway line? He had no reason to go in that direction other than to go get Pontus. Perhaps I have an incorrect recollection, being reliant on a real-time view, but I don't think I'm that far from the truth. For balance, the same real-time view had me thinking that Berra would be getting a straight red. Ref was the worst I've seen. Anywhere. Ever. Especially in the first half, but had his moments in the second half (watch brutal assault on Dallas - truly a straight red & 2 years in the jug case). The linespersons were also graduates from the Stevie Wonder School of Fcukwits. TBF, they were simply negligent & incompetent rather than the bias that the referee showed on so many occasions. Somehow Baardiff only got 4 yellow cards. If the ref had applied the standard that he applied to Leeds, there should have been at least another 8, meaning 2 or 3 of them getting sent off. Baarfiff were also guilty of shocking time wasting from the moment they went 1-0 up. Balls being kicked away went unpunished. Throw-ins taking upwards of a minute equally so. And the laughable goal kicks. Never has a 'keeper been so undecided which side of the goal he should kick from or who to kick it to. And whilst we're on the 'keeper, aren't they only allowed to hold the ball for 6-8 seconds? Think someone told this ref that it was 6-8 minutes! If you've taped the match, count how many of them went down & stayed down throughout the match. I've genuinely never seen anything like it. And I thought Millwall were bad!

Me biased? Then perhaps you could tell me where the ball was when Bamba sought out & assaulted Pontus? And tell me why he was moving goalwards towards Pontus when the ball was up the field? Simply inept defending, disorientation, or a man on a mission? The evidence points towards a deliberate assault. I'm hoping the FA have a look at it - they should - and dish out the punishment he deserves. So fill your boots - let us be entertained by your fairy story. The time-wasting comments are verifiable, and if you'd watched the match, you'd be aware of this.
