Liverpool dominant. Not helped by Dier, Sanchez and Vertonghen being terrible. Jan's poorest display of the season so far. Davies the only player really going for it.

Its in games like this I feel sorry for Dembele. The best all round player on the pitch and working hard but his team mates are just standing watching.
It's not that bad, it's just one goal. We can turn this round. It's certainly not as bad as the Sky commentary is making it out to be. Took them 14 minutes to even mention that the goal was a back pass, otherwise you would have thought it was some kind of Pool super-move.
So lets look at the positives. We are only one goal down, we are not playing that badly, just giving the ball away too much, but so are Liverpool. It wouldnt take much to turn the game around. Still anyones game.
We’re still in it remarkably. In other circumstances you could expect a reaction 2nd half, but that never seems to happen in these games. Sanchez looks so good on occasion but a rabbit in the headlights on others. He’s been here for 30 games and cost a small fortune. He really needs to be more consistent.
I'm completely ****ing destroyed by that. Why the **** are we playing so open again? Let's repeat the ****ing **** show that was last season's performance up there. Why bother to learn from previous mistakes? In just about every big away game Mauricio Pochettino gets it totally wrong. When we should go forward we fall back and vice versa. There have been plenty of poor performances out there but yet again, the game plan is completely wrong. Bewildering.
There were some signs of Spurs getting more effective towards the end of the half as Liverpool tire. Overall of course Liverpool have dominated by their usual tactic against us at Anfield just harassing us out with all out energy. If we stay just one behind I think we can get something towards the end of this game. Unless of course we can turn the table in the second half and come out like a train.
I love the positivity but let’s be realistic we aren’t going to turn this round. Most likely outcome will be 2 or 3 nil at the end. Sorry if that’s negative but that is the usual story in these kind of games so I have no reason to think today will be any different!
Nothing like last season, and that is what has me . Apart from the gifted goal there were was little to fear apart from Spurs errors.
Vertonghen's made some great interceptions and Sanchez has made some good tackles. Some of the decisions on the ball have been poor but I put that down to tactics. Set up midfield and attack narrow where the opposition are going to press your fullbacks and you're going to be forced to either play risky balls or play it long(which it looks like they've been told not to do). Doesn't help when on the few ocassions we do work it out from the back, Dembele's getting rotational fouls on him. How Can didn't get booked for rugby tackling Dembele, or Mane didn't for booting it away after, I don't know. Get Son out on to the right, Dele on the left and lets give their defence a proper test.
I think we'll get back in this. Don't forget they have Lovren in defence and Karius in goal Always a mistake in them.
2nd half reaction will be more of the same rubbish . Why do we not see that it's pointless Lloris trying to play out from the back? Just clear it upfield. Take out their front 3.
They are playing very tight to us so we ned to turn them with a bit of hoofball, its not the Spurs way but likely to be effective. It will make them drop off and give us a bit of space in the final third. Otherwise it will be more of the same, we need to mix it up a bit.
It's the repetition of the same mistakes over and over again that worries me terribly. Didn't Poch see enough from our games against Pool last season (as well as City away this year and last) that passing it out from the back is a TERRIBLE gameplan against teams that press ferociously with pace? We keep questioning our record against the big 5 but in all honesty it's hardly surprising when we conspire to play into their hands every single time. There's an arrogance about this team, from the manager down, that is unnecessary and to be quite frank, totally unwarranted. Put some shiny things in the trophy cabinet before you decide to go toe to toe against clubs that lavish hundreds of millions on their squads.
