but Bates wouldn`t sell. Don`t know if that is a good thing or a bad thing as I`m not sure what they have put into Cardiff yet?
And Cardiff are making headway? They were closer four years ago to the Premiership than now. Maybe ayatollah bates has a master plan, promotion without ever spending a penny
Bates has said he will sell leeds united for 40m. I dont know whether that is expensive or not but thats what i do know. It doesnt seem like an excessive amount though and so if you were to want owners that can put some money into a club. Surely than can afford 40m..... or not
40m for players, training staff and two unfulfilled buyback clauses on ER and TA? It's a joke. Of course investors/suitors are going to be deterred by that insane pricetag (not to mention by the presence of Bates and his brash business style), but I assure you that Leeds United will be among the very highest on the list of clubs they're interested in. Before Bates wards them off and they're forced to go to places like Cardiff, Blackburn and Leicester, that is.
well think about how much a team like aston villa would cost you, not going anywhere fast but i reckon they'll cost more than 40m
Definitely. Then again, they own 50m worth of playing talent alone, along with their own ground and training facility as far as I'm aware. Newcastle were on the market for 80-90m when Ashley was trying to flog them in the Championship; they're in the same boat as Villa. If Bates quoted a reasonable price, I've no doubts that there would be plenty willing to invest, all of whom would be an improvement. Sadly, his hooks are firmly lodged into the club and he's not letting go unless he's pushed.
But surely if ashley was trying to sell newcastle for 80-90m and they are in pretty much the same position although they were more likely to get promoted, then 40m is a very reasonable price. Although the only thing would be that we dont own elland road which i wouldnt be able to put a price tag on
These are the points I was making. Firstly, they had a pretty much Premiership-standard squad which we blatantly don't have, and secondly, they owned their stadium and training ground which we don't. When you look at Andy Carroll, Kevin Nolan, Coloccini, Enrique, Gutierrez et alia, their squad must have been worth a good 50m alone. 40m is hugely overpriced for a club like ours at this moment which has players worth 20m max and ER/TA buyout potentiality worth maybe 5m, if you can really put a value on an unfulfilled contract.
I do see your point but i do think our full squad would be worth over 25m and thats being conservative (i would say nearer to 30-35m). I reckon that is a decent value to be honest. The leeds united brand would be worth a decent amount alone. I think the 40-50m less than newcastle covers elland road and the difference in value of players. I dont see that as that expensive tbf. If it were too expensive it would only be 5-10m MAX too much
Josh I think the squad has potential to be worth up to 30 million but at this present time they are worth no more than 20 million and thats including 4million for Snoddy n 4 million for Max.
Gradel £4m Snods £4m Clayton £5m Nunez £4m Howson £4m Becchio £2m Somma £2m Ross £2m White £1m Lonergan £2m Lees £1m Sam £1m -------------------- £32m + other players probably £3m combined value = £35m.
Gradel 6m Snods 8m Howson 8m Clayton 4m Ross 1m Somma 750k White 500k All the others i agree with. Sorry i know its not the point of your post but i figured i'd share my view. I just dont think clayton is our most valueable player, he has had about 4 or 5 good games in his career all be it he was exceptional and definately one to look out for Anyway. So if the players were to add up to 35m (lets use your total) i reckon just the brand name of leeds united alone would be worth more than 5m regardless of everything else i think the valuation of 40m is rather quite generous. I might start saving....
No way on this planet are the players worth that, Aidy white £1million? Clayton is only worth 500k max, Howson a Nunez £1million max, You need to do some serious thinking, we are a championship club and our squad isn't worth much at all.
These boys may be worth that in our eyes but look at it from a buying point of view. Howson 8 Million come on!!!
i must admit leedsinessex.. your valuation is nothing but football manager mate! Lonergan was purchased for 200k so how on earth does a guy jump to 2 mill in 4 games. Clayton from the unknown suddenly jumps to 5 mill in 4 games.. If in honesty the team i believe is valued around 17-20 mill max. Leicester have practically bought a new squad and they have spent up to 12 mill for there talent! We as leeds fans are quite naive when it comes to valuations. Weve said all along that we are needing new blood in the side, yet suddenly were worth 35-40 mill as a team! Noooo way
