Just had my attention drawn to this article / video about Orta. Apologies if you've already read it. Big learning point for me is that he worked for Karanka at Boro - he was only the Chief Scout! There seems to be quite a bit of bad mouthing about him, but oddly enough, there's a link within the article that assesses the players he signed, and unexpectedly, most seem to get a decent write-up. I am not sure why he hasn’t been fired yet. He has brought in players that will never be good enough, so either he has failed his brief or Rad is running the club as a puppy farm to try and line his pockets at the expense of our ambitions and Orta is part of that.
I used Wiki to look up where these players are now and many haven’t done so great despite the views of the Gazette. I just feel having a DOF will prevent us getting the right man for the job.
Thomas will be forced to fall on his sword before Orta. radz has set up a management team with Orta as DoF, if he does anything it will be in the Summer, but as soon as we cant get into the top 6 TC goes. It looks like the players dont get what TC wants them to do either that of refuse to do it. Problems are bad now and cant see TC being able to do anything.imagine a crisis meeting between Radz, Orta and Kinnear this morning

I’ve questioned this logic every time it’s raised. That can’t work unless the players brought in become good enough to make the 1st team. You can’t be of more value by staying in the u23. So to sell at a profit they have to come good.
But we get one or maybe two for one season, hopefully enough to keep us up but not enough to help us progress. Only Rad wins. It's the Cellino model pure and simple.
