What worries me for the whole affair is how long it took MP to realise Redmond, Forster // Lemina, Pistol Pete (yep, can’t spell); in / out or really out / in.
Redmond and Forster really are on the out aren’t they. Agree it took at least five games too long but wondering if they haven’t been executed as an example to others. #vanished
I’m agreeing totally about Boufal. I also think Tadic has turned his season around and has made the oppo looking dazed and confused more than a few times lately. His takes on success rate must be right up there. Possibly better than Boufal. And his end ball is much better. Different kinds of trickery and room for both.

Coincidentally, Tadic's often improved play has come since JWP began playing on the right. A real credit to Tadic that he has been able to find some measure of success playing somewhere other than his natural position, which he all know to be the right wing. Also, there is a place where fullmatchesandshows can be viewed, if you desire to watch the match. I suggest skipping the first, say, 30 minutes.
Lemina in Garth Crook's team of the week. Utterly disparaging and derogatory remarks about our club. Please can someone complain to the beeb? Maybe appear on Point's of Veiw? NB- does that programme even exist any more?
The thing that annoys me about Garth Crooks team of the week is that his comment for Jack Stephens pretty much says "stop selling your best players or you'll end up getting relegated" and then his comment for Lemina pretty much says "Hey, Arsenal, come and buy this player from Saints." Talk about double standards.
Lemina is wasted at St Mary's. Sorry, Southampton fans, but you just do not have the class of player to bring the best out of this lad. His performance against West Brom was immense. Admittedly, we have not seen enough performances like this - but you would if you put him in a proper outfit.
I really recommend Marc Morris' excellent "The Norman Conquest" which really explains this period of history in a thought-provoking and lucid fashion. Canute was undoubtedly the most successful "Danish" king of England and represented a high-water mark for the Danelaw which governed most of Northern and Eastern England. The issue about northerner's talking funny because of the Danes is a bit simplistic although they had a massive bearing on place names. Interestingly Morris' book explains in detail King William's "harrowing of the North" when he sent his knights / mercenaries into Northern England and effectively led such a ferocious campaign than large swathes of this part of the country remained uninhabited for decades. No matter how many times I read about 1066, I keep on hoping for a different outcome ! I have never understood why Chelsea's ground is called Stamford Bridge. I am similarly intrigued as to why West Ham played at the Boleyn Ground and wondered if this might have been part of a manor owned by than family. I know that the Kop in Liverpool owes it's origins to the Battle of Spion Kopje but it would be curious to learn how many other grounds owes their names to incidents in British history.

The Viking King Canute the Great defeated the Anglo-Saxon King Ethelred the Unready in 1014 and was crowned in Southampton.[15] His fabled attempt to "command" the tide to halt may have taken place in Southampton. (Wikipedia).
Stamford just means a crossing at a sandy spot and there was a Stamford Creek near the present football ground....presumably there is/was a bridge there.
There is a plaque somewhere on the castle wall in Southampton....saw it a few years back. As it probably never happened, let's claim it was more likely not to have happened in Southampton.
The version I heard was that Canute was so fed up with all his lords and advisors asking him to do the impossible that he set up the turning the tide stunt to prove that he couldn’t. Like many historical figures, he’s had a bad press over the centuries.
My favourite Danish king was Sweyn (or Sven) Forkbeard. I just want to be called Forkbeard basically.
