He played him vs Spurs as a holding midfielder and he obviously had a poor game. Ridiculous that the miserable ****mong got a new contract.
I’d say it’s definitely linked to failing to land Mahrez, I.e look at this empty space on my bench that would have been filled. Whether it’s just that or goes a step further is down to interpretation. I think he’s sly so it wouldn’t surprise me if he’s trying to play victim whilst making us out to be bad for not selling. Either way, definitely the first part of what I said
He could have picked a youngster just for the whole first team match experience, he didn't have to play him..but he would have boosted the confidence of a young player.
He was absolute garbage against us and got hauled off. Probably because of Mourinho's poor tactical choices, in my opinion. Pogba suffers from the same thing that Toure did, I think. He's a big, powerful black guy, so he can't possibly be a defensively inept attacking midfielder. People keep playing him in deeper roles and he's found out there, because he can't tackle and isn't good at tracking runs.
Yeah it’ll be all that. But you’re not telling me Man City with every resource they have available couldn’t have found someone, even if it was someone from under 18’s or anything to give them the experience of a match day. Would make a better point doing that imo than only have 6 which makes him just look a twat
You do realise I was someone backing Leicester RE the Mahrez situation in recent days... Right? Anyway, that post had zero to do with you guys, it's aimed at that **** who clearly only relies on multimillion pound superstars to make him look good. If I were a City academy player I'd instantly start whoring myself about to other clubs, what's the point of being there?! EDIT: think I read your post wrong, in that you were implying Pep with the conspiracy, not me
It's a double-edged sword, though. What happens when that player's not used and doesn't make a squad again for months? Probably less risky to leave them in the U23s and let them earn their place naturally, for me.
My response had nothing to do with you mate, not a dig. It was to do with some responses to me earlier on the Mahrez subject I agree with everything you said there btw
They could have called someone up, but they're all very young. Here's a list: https://www.flashscore.com/team/manchester-city/0OHuBVAO/ Those playing the most all appear to be 18, with a couple of 19 year olds chucked in there and some 17 year olds. Their more experienced U23s are all out on loan, I believe.
True. He seems to have dropped their players who had poor games against us. Pogba was ****e, Jones scored an own goal, Young got forced back a lot and made some poor fouls and Martial struggled on the right.
It is earned if Pep asks the Youth team coach about which kid has been working hard etc etc. The intention is not to play him it's to reward the kid so he can have a match day experience with the first team. It would have given Pep his 7th substitute and I doubt it would harm the kid in anyway. Even if he had played last night, it wouldn't matter, he wouldnt be on the bench to come on and change the game. I don't see no negatives for the kid. Just Pep being a cry baby
