The good thing about today is that a point will most likely see us move out of the bottom 3 which will at least give a little boost. Need to win really but a draw wouldn't be a complete catastrophe. Just don't bloody lose.

We need wins, but you are right....when playing others in the bottom group it is important not to lose. Not suggesting we play for a draw (because that is how you lose), but if a draw happens it is not the end of the world.

I am hoping for all our luck to come home in this game. You may mock, but sometime surely things will go our way. I favour Sturridge and Jay being injured after colliding (not fatally...I am not a monstero_O....though of course sometimes needs must for the greater good <laugh>). They both limp off and two goals go in off Carrillo's body parts (to give him confidence for the next game). And a goal from a JWP free kick....because it's about bloody time. So...bish bosh....3-0 to Saints.

The bean bag will be over my head to block out the whimpering....as the neighbours have complained that it sets their dog off.

The whole Cyrille Regis thing today will be enough to see WBA through to a win today. Just got to hope that the one silver lining is the overdue managerial change we so desperately require.

Guna get Pardiola'd 3-0, Sturridge hattrick before getting injured doing his dance and missing the rest of the season.

In isolation I’d agree, however 2 PTS from Brighton at home and WBA away is not a good return right now.

Nope we need 3 after failing to beat Brighton imo. 2 or less from those two games and I'm really struggling to see where the points are coming from.

It's not but I'm not going to dwell on the Brighton game. It's done and we can't change the result. Honestly, unless we repeat what we did against Watford, I wouldn't be unhappy if we drew today.

I'll take a point today was a sole reason that it means WBA don't take three.

I completely agree that it leaves us with a very unacceptable week from our own point of view, but I've never followed the school of thought that you should only rely on yourselves. Regardless of what your aims are - championship, promotion, survival, whatever - you almost always require, or benefit from, others dropping points. And I'd suggest that is never more true that this season's relegation battle. In isolation, our results so far this season deserve relegation. But as it happens, that can be said for about half the league.

Yes some teams will save themselves, and ideally I would like us to be one of those (and to be one of those, we probably do need to win today). But honestly, I suspect our most realistic chance of staying up is for three other sides to be worse than us. So WBA dropping two points, and us clawing one point back on anyone just above us who loses, would be OK with me in that respect.

(Yes it all goes to pot if the likes of Brighton and Huddersfield manage to follow Bmouth and Swansea's leads, and win a few quick games whilst we continue to flounder. But whilst they're dropping points all over the place, the option of staying up through default remains on the table - though not if we start losing to WBA).
