I'm sure that you're all finding it difficult to sleep knowing that The Damned's tour starts today up in Leeds. So here's a couple of versions of 'Fan Club' 39 years apart....... I know what you're thinking, that American accent keeps on creeping in these days. Dave mate, No.
Just a little taster of the current tour and it looks like the new album and Paul Gray's return have them on top form. The Captain can still pull off the guitar behind the head solo, just, and Paul seems in rude health and having lots of fun. Catch them while you can, people...
I did love these guys first couple of albums. I did know the sax player, Duncan Kilburn a bit. After he left they were ruined by the Americans, especially Todd Rundgren. However, redemption came later....by which time I'd met John Ashton, who was a work colleague's next door neighbour.
So, Spurs finish their season at Wembley in May.... "Glad that's over. You won't catch me back round those parts for at least 10 months...." On 20 June [the day before my birthday] guess who's playing Wembley Arena..... The Darkness.......Christ on a bike. The Hollywood Vampires [Jonny Depp, Alice Cooper and Joe Perry].........Sweet Mary and Joseph. And..........You're never going to guess. Never, never, never......ever........Never. It's these Big Hollywood Movie Soundtrack contributors.... Yes, that's Flea on the back seat. £65 to get in. Bloody £65, they'll only be on for half an hour, as they're support to a covers band and a one hit wonder.
