The original point was never if it was a simile though. Just that it made sense.

 

You said it didn't work in any shape or form. It does. Rangers turned down something they desperately need in the hope to get something better later.

 

If the tramp owned the lunch and turned down a better lunch in the hope of getting a Ritz dinner then the analogy would have worked.

That's not the case because Rangers don't own the £8m. Which is the only constant. Morelos's value can change at any minute. He could break his leg tomorrow and be worth nothing. The constant was the lunch being offered/the £8million being offered.
