One of my hens laid a mini egg this morning. Bloody hens are going all commercial and getting Easer stuff in the aisles early too!
How are your girls doing eggwise FLT? This is our first winter and I must say the expected drop in egg production has not really happened, we're still getting around 3 eggs every 4 days from all four of our girls. When they first started laying we had a couple of shelless efforts (which are weird) and one girl insists on throwing a painful looking double yolker every couple of weeks. Otherwise I find it funny that the biggest chicken consistently lays the smallest eggs. Proves size isn't everything for the female (chicken) as well I suppose.
Great thanks Greensaint. We are getting 3 or 4 eggs every day from 4 hens. No real slowing down at all, bar a week when some days it was 2 eggs. There’s one who lays later than the others and I wonder if she is laying somewhere in the garden as if we leave them in their pen, she goes back upstairs to lay, whereas if they are let out to roam first thing, she’s off and running/flapping. The shelless ones are weird and one of ours lays double yolks about a third of the time.
Watched two cracking things tonight - Firstly the new Letterman show on Netflix, where he interviews Obama. Oh man, the difference is soooo pronounced with ‘you know who’. Then watched the film Detroit. Amazing movie. Highly recommend both.
Just called Virgin Media to get my bill down and I managed to save £25/month and get this for my internet: please log in to view this image Not bad
I threatened to leave SKY with my Broadband and Phone ( I refuse to have their tv) a couple of weeks ago to change to SSE and they were so scared that they slashed £14 a month off of my bill...
http://www.iwcp.co.uk/news/VIDEO-Wh...-sheep-are-up-to-on-Military-Road-317971.aspx Video of sheep walking in a circle for no apparent reason....presumably one started it and (being sheep) they all joined in.
Flew up to Edinburgh yesterday morning to go to Forfar and buy a camper van. Then drove it back down last night, getting in at just after 3. Big thanks to Highways UK for closing the M6 just north of Stoke at 10 (missed it by 2 minutes) and then putting out screwed up diversion signs which took me an hour north to join the M6 again NORTH of the closure (it was like Groundhog Day). Would have been in by about 1.30 otherwise ..... And, just to make things worse, got to bed at 4 and STILL woke up at 8! I’m going to put my feet up this afternoon and watch the rugby ..... maybe have a little snooze if it gets boring
Had to cancel my trip to Rome and give away my rugby tickets as I've not recovered enough yet... hopefully they get used and not wasted.
I have just got back from a Walk in Kinston Lacey , a national trust place not to far from here . Loved it , it opened at 10:00 we got there just after half past , and cars were already using the overflow car park !

I read this morning of a 90 year old golfer hitting his first hole in one. If that’s not impressive enough it was on a 179 yard hole. I know it’s all about rhythm and striking the ball cleanly, but that seems like one hell of a strike for a man of his age.
