Broken collar bone according to Kenny, should be out a couple of weeks then. Update: Kenny said he has 'done' his collar bone, so I don't know what that means exactly. He also said he will be out for a few weeks, hopefully not too long. However there is an International break coming up.
devistated for the lad, he didnt look like he wanted to come off in the first place and was really up for the match. God willing a speedy recovery
Except that he's come off the bench to spark a victory in just the second game of the season... Hopefully it's not as bad as originally thought...
During the match, Sky reported that his shoulder had 'popped-out' but gone back of its own accord. Without an x-ray Kenny would not be able to tell if he had done his collar bone
Proper feel for the lad, done the same 9 years ago out of work for a good 3 months Hopefully not as bad as first thought
When he left the pitch he didn't adopt one of the 2 classic stances for a broken collarbone injury, (1) arm stiff at the side or (2) arm bent at the elbow across the chest and being supported.
In 1965 Gerry Byrne played three-quarters of an FA Cup Final against Leeds with a broken collarbone!!
Dave. 100% correct, and for 117 minutes he took the piss out of Johnny Giles. Giles has held a grudge against Liverpool since 1965. 46 years is quite a long time to hold a grudge, he should get over it.
Bloody hard man our Gerry - hence his chant "Gerry Byrne Crunch Crunch". As for Giles, who cares? Giles had fantatsic skills which he denegrated by being so dirty. he's the only winger I know who of who regularly went 'over-the -top' in the first 5 minutes of a match to intimidate a full back.
