    I'm not arsed, we've only got a week left and this is taking the piss. Just get one of them in. I'm concerned we won't get a striker like. Seems a mess on that front.

    Biggest problem for us is, as Pardew says, all clubs now know we need a left back. We're forced into a corner where they can keep pushing the price up and up because they know we have to go with it. It could easily reach a point where Ashley refuses to go higher and we're stuck without a LB. Based on that, I reckon Santon would be the easier player to get, as Milan already have a number of high quality players who can play fullback, Maicon, Nagotomo?, Chivu, Zanetti (if he winds back a year or 2). The other two clubs have our targets as high in the pecking order, which means they would need to be replaced, also driving the price up. We really backed ourselves into a corner by selling Enrique before bringing in the replacement though.
