Championship vs League 2 and they haven't had a good start in the league (although that doesn't mean they wont play well in the Cup!). Looking forward to it.

Yes. Good for Swindon. League Cup winners, let's not forget. I do still remember Don Rogers. Many won't.

As I was corrected before, Swindon haven't beat us under Adkins.

My immediate thoughts are, I hope that this forum doesn't get infested with those weird six fingered freaks from Swindon, that almost seemed to be resident on the old 606 Saints page when we were in League One. Funny how they suddenly disappeared about midway through last season...;)...:1980_boogie_down:

I for one couldn't care less about the Carling Cup. I would just rest all our players that play Leicester as they will be cream crackered after that game. It should still be a strong line up even if we replaced our entire starting line up.

I don't get on with Swindon very well - have bad experiences from our 1-0 defeat up there in 2009!

Yeah, I bet. He was a player who spent all of career in the lower leagues, yet was endlessly subject to clubs wondering whether to take a chance on him. He was rather talented, after all. I'd imagine that wasn't good for his overall character.

There are a surprising amount of players who went/go through their careers who could have played in the top divisions, but never did/do.

Fans may be surprised, but it's easily done. Rickie Lambert is playing the best football of his life, but he could have been playing Premiership football had he been coached more imaginatively in his career. I hope he eventually does.

Its another Saints bogey that Nigel needs to exercise. Great tie.

Indeed. In fact, I like the idea of playing Swindon again. It's cosy. ;)
