cos the questions will be about production staff, dates of things and so forth. there has to be some element of knowing your subject to be able to answer a range of unpredictable questions and just rattling off answers from a cheat sheet.
They could still ask new questions, but if something has been asked before, no reason it couldn't be asked again. Fawlty Towers is a bit of a bad subject idea anyway imo. They shouldn't allow it. There was only, what, about 8 episodes. Doesn't really seem like a very broad topic. Might as well have people set their topic as the lyrics to the happy birthday song.
So what would you all choose as your subject to answer questions on? I would go either American Civil Rights Movement or Tamla Motown.
yup. very narrow. the game is to get a specialist category where you maximise return then you match the others on GK
Freshwater snails. I dunno actually, there isn't really any subject I know all the minutiae about. I know a little about a lot of things. I get bored with any one obsession before long and move onto the next subject. General Knowledge is where I would do best.
Not really. When I was a kid I used to read a lot of Ngaio Marsh books but I don't remember anything about them anymore. I read mainly historical fiction now, but don't follow any author too much. I'd have a very hard time picking out an area of specialty.
So we won't be seeing you on the programme any time soon I wouldn't say I'm an expert or amateur expert on any subject either but I do have a great interest in a few areas one of which is African American history. I've always loved 'black' music from being very young but my interest in black history came when I went to uni in my late forties and it was the one subject that captured my interest - I really don't know why.
I like Bernard Cornwell, read probably a third of his books. Would probably do badly as a Mastermind topic. Johnson's baby said it best... I won't be on the show anytime soon. I wouldn't anyway. I've kept my name and my photos off the internet. I would never appear on a TV show.

Am I late for the relationship advice? You do everything you’re Mrs asks you to do and be miserable whilst keeping her happy. Or you sack it off and just be happy.
