While I think it's a good window, part of me does worry that this semi-rebuild is happening with Wenger still in charge. I think getting a new mananger and giving him a war chest wouldn't have been ideal.
Aubameyang barely had a single injury the whole time he was at Dortmund, will be interesting to see if that continues
I understand why people have reservations about Luiz. He can be prone to making errors. But he's strong, atheltic, technically superb, can play DM and CB and has won the league in both England and France. I think he would be a good signing. Dont know much about Manolas.
Getting Aubameyang & Mkhitarian is decent, but nothing will ever beat Arsenal signing Andre Santos, Park Chu-young and Yossi Benayoun on deadline day in 2011.
Looks like David Luiz is staying at Chelsea, with us reportedly being interested in signing Kostas Manolas. He'd be a massive signing if we can pull that one off. Beast of a CB
So Giroud to Chelsea for £18m. Bit gutted about that tbh. Would have liked to see Luiz coming the other way.
Those were the good ol days. Makes you wonder how we managed to stay in the top 4 with sh1t hot talent like that coming in!
I believe Mertesacker was technically signed on that deadline day as well. (announced that day anyway)
I just dont really understand this one. Why would we sell to Chelsea? Why so cheap? Why did Giroud want to go there? is he really going to play that much more? only 18 month contract? it must have been to assure us getting auba despite Wenger assuring us that wasnt the case.
Fair play to Chelsea for taking advantage of Dortmund and our situation. In normal circumstances Giroud would have gone for more.
Debuchy signed for St Etienne. Contract terminated by Arsenal. That's one more wage freed up and given to Ozil
Nothing more on Manolas at the moment. Some reports that we bid £30m last week and Roma want £35m and a replacement before he goes. Apparently trying to get Daley Blind from Man Utd.
