No, strengthening means bringing in players better than what you have...so will play....or at least to add players of quality if you have a desperate need in that area. I think we have the numbers now we have another striker (let's hope he works out), so what we need is real quality. I don't know many of the players that others teams are bringing in nor what their needs are....hence why I said wait and see if they have really strengthened. I'm quite sure we could have got bodies through the door, but not necessarily of the quality we want. If we want Promes....do we get someone else in rather than wait till the summer....only worth it if buying that person guarantees survival...and no purchase can do that.

My real point is we need to get in what we want and not worry about other teams....unless they sign geniuses. And I don't know enough about them to know that.

We have a squad of players people keep saying are better than they are showing but when do they show that? We have been poor for ages now and the board have only bought in Carillo. Like I said, it is either a player problem or a manager one and we haven't addressed either of those

 

We have good players in almost every position...apart from up front now Austin is out and Gabbi is out of favour. I hope Carrillo is the answer, because we have missed players like Lambert, a fit Jay, and Pelle. We have also missed goals from MF. In other words, we are missing truly exciting players....or the ones we have who might be exciting are being misused. Puel and Mauricio have both suffered from poor finishing, but Puel was the better manager or a faster learner in the EPL.

Combination of two things I suppose manager and players, but a better manager could have got more out of our team IMO.

 

On loan it's not an issue surely, especially as I seem to remember that the parent club would pay some.

 

That is what I am getting at Fran. We are in relegation because

1) the players aren't good enough
2) manager isn't good enough

One of them is true, yet we haven't made moves to address either

 

As someone has quoted on here that there has been an injury to another player in his team so the possibility is virtually zero now.

Its been a succession of poor transfer windows leading to this. But this is a particularly bad one because it's the one that will possibly lead to relegation.
Let's face it selling VVD on day 1 and managing to bring in the sum total of 1 player is hopeless. And nobody seems accountable for it. We limp on.

 

I swear Roma nearly signed him for 28 million over the summer !
