Look at the win v Brighton in 2011. That was when we had luck....Fonte got us a penalty that never was. Come on Saints...do it again today....before VAR sets in.
The proper support thing was tongue in cheek really and I can't really say much as this is only the second home game I've paid for this season. Felt like I needed to be there tonight though, the support is needed more than ever.
Localish game. Must win. Weekday game under the lights. New record signing striker likely to feature. But more than anything, there comes a point where you realise as a fanbase that ok, we've been ****, and we're in a **** situation, but you can see the players are trying and the manager is trying and we need to try too. We're in a relegation battle like it or not, we need to do our part in that battle. I guess I just hoped that the majority of the fanbase would realise that too.
bloody typical, book a holiday back to good old blighty. in February and March Saints have 2 home games and 6 away! only game I could have made is Stoke at home and it's my mum and dad's 60th Wedding Anniversary party!
The point is we're in a relegation battle when we shouldn't be with the calibre of players we have, the manager is about as clued up as a sack of ****, and the board are screwing us by not rectifying 2 years worth of mistakes there's egos can't and won't admit to. How can you get behind that with any confidence? You can't!!!
If you really love and care for this great club of ours, be as as positive as you can tonight and support the team and make a wall of noise for the whole 90 minutes.
I'd still expect/hope the fans turn up and support the team, to try and create an atmosphere to push our team on to victory. Despite all of the bad, it's not as if we are cut off down the bottom without a hope of survival. I still have hope that we can pull off another escape and I'll be singing loudly tonight to try and do my bit. Hopefully the rest of St.Marys will be too.
We've just got to hope there are more fans there tonight who will loudly sing the team on for 90 minutes no matter what, than there are who will moan and boo. We've got to rediscover our relegation scrap spirit. Plenty of time to moan after.
